  1. I'd seen this posted on YouTube for a while, but preferred to look at other videos. It's late at night and a Rapper just discovered Billy Joel's "Piano Man," and it's cool rainy night. "Piano Man" brought me down, so it was time to see what Fil of "Wings of Pegasus" had to say about this cover. Press PLAY if you're a Karen Carpenter fan, you won't be disappointed.;)
  2. Some folk think that Auto Tune is "just an effect" like Reverb and nothing to be concerned about. Fil takes on this "asked/commented on many times" supposition and shows just what a cheat Auto Tune is for singers. Press PLAY if you want to hear what all the noise is about... Fil Sings "The Sounds of Silence" then Pitch Corrects his vocal.
  3. 'Ello folks, it's "Milli Vanilli" time, with Celtic Thunder on stage with a cover performance that sounds...off. Fil takes us through this "mimed performance" that starts out by detecting "computerized embellishment" and ends with "are they strumming their guitars"? Press PLAY to see/hear Celtic Thunder "do a play date" on stage.
  4. It's 1975 and Racquel Welch is Cher's guest star for the evening. Fil takes a look at Racquel Welch, singer vs. Cher, analyzing how they play off each other. Press PLAY and be amazed!;)
  5. Have you been told that "you need a bucket to carry a note/you're Tone Deaf" all your life? Do musicians tell you NOT to sing? Here's Fil to show and tell what/if you are "Tone Deaf." Press PLAY to find out if you're really an undiscovered Opera singer, like Mike Rowe, or as off-key as "Faye Valentine.";)
  6. Hoe accurate/on key was Karen Carpenter? Press PLAY to hear what Fil thinks of this 1970's vocalist.
  7. Do some record company executives really have "Tin Ears"? Fil of Wings of Pegasus does an A vs. B analysis of Art Garfunkel's performance of "Bridge Over Troubled Water," natural and Autotuned. It sounds like a "Cylon Base Ship Top 100" version when Art's voice is "corrected." Proceed if you dare, and don't mind the HAL 9000 version.:(
  8. And now for something completely different. Looking over the numerous analysis videos under "Wings of Pegasus," I wondered what he though of Harry Chapin. As you can tell from the video title, Fil thinks highly of Harry Chapin. It's time to take a "Taxi" with "the British guitarist.";)
  9. Can you tell when someone uses Autotune to juice up a recording? No? Listen to Fil sing "raw" and "Autotuned" to hear the difference. I've come across "British Guitarist analyzes X" for a while, but didn't play one of his videos until I saw Jim & Maury's "Operator" analyzed. This led to his analysis of Don McLean's "American Pie," and that's all I needed to sign up. Looking at his previous vidoes, I came across this "in my voice" demonstration of Autotune, and it may be of interest to some...
