Small note: The Wallace Collection was a Belgian band in the 60's. Daydream was their biggest and only international hit. Excellent song.

I forget which song it is, but there's another intro the Boss does on his live album where he tells a story about how him and his father always used to clash and his father always told him "You should join the army, they'll make a man out of you". Then, during Vietnam, Bruce went for his physical during the draft and got rejected. When he told his father, his father said "that's good". I'm not telling it great, but if you hear it, it's very touching.
U2 has one in Rattle and Hum at the beginning of "Helter Skelter": "Charles Manson stole this from the Beatles, we're stealing it back."
The Bruce song you're talking about is The River.

Bruce Springsteens spoken intro before 'War' (on Live 1975-1985), with the conclusion "Blind faith in your leaders, or blind faith in anything will get you killed".
U2: Sunday Bloody Sunday (on Under a Blood Red Sky): "There's been a lot of talk about this song, maybe too much talk. This song is not a rebel song, this song is Sunday Bloody Sunday".

Led Zeppelin
Talking Heads (I'd love to see them live)
Soundgarden and Rage against The Machine (Audioslave is ok, but the 2 former bands are a lot better)
Guns n' Roses (with Slash, Duff, Izzy and the other guys minus Axl Roses ego)
Channel Zero, The Scabs and TC Matic (3 great Belgian bands. Channel Zero was a metal-band, The Scabs a rock band and TC Matic a post-punk new wave alternative indie funkrock band (it's quite difficult to discribe TC Matic)

'The Lost Art of keeping a Secret' by Queens of the Stone Age
Lyrics:
I?ve got a secret, I cannot say
Blame all the movement to give it away
You?ve got somethin, I understand
Holding it tightly, caught on command
Leap of faith, do you doubt?
Cut you in, I just cut you out
[chorus:]
Whatever you do
Don?t tell anyone
Whatever you do
Don?t tell anyone
Look for reflections, in your face
Canine devotion, time can?t erase
Out on the corner, locked in your room
I never believe them and I never assume
Still can?t believe there is a lie
Promises promise, an eye for an eye
We?ve got something to reveal
No one can know how we feel
[repeat chorus 2x]
I think you already know
How far I?d go not to say
You know the art is gone
And I?m taking this all to the grave
[repeat chorus]
