I find a lot of blues song have stories. So most of that.

The Wall could fit on one album its 81 minutes and they managed to fit Beatles 1 on one cd and thats about the same length. But no, they had to make it 40 bucks.

Me papa was born in 1950 but he certainly was not a hippie.
Now a friend of dads, his age wasnt a hippie either, but he was definetly hip. He showed me a poster he had of himself on a motorbike, a real lowriding one, long hair the lennon shades and everything. He said he was going to even go to woodstock on his bike if there hadnt been a big storm.
He teaches me the guitar I know and let me borrow some bios and stuff on the stones and beatles and everything.
Just thought Id share.

I am haveing a VERY difficult time defining Grunge. I realize tht i came ut of mainly Seattle in the late eighties and people list Nirvana, Pearl Jam and Soundgarden as Grunge bands.
But what is it?
Now, I got a Pixies album for Christmas and I thought that was as Grungy as it got, but they werent on sny Grunger band lists I have seen...
Just discuss it and maybe try to define it and give me some good Grunge Bands, because I like all of it ive heard so far.

?Daniel Gillis
Sit Back And Relax
You Fake Fools
Laugh And Point
At How Dumb I Look
At Least I Had The Balls To Do What I Felt.
Deepen Your Voice
Flex Your Abs
Say What Makes You Cool
Makes No Difference To Me.
Away From People You're Different
Away From People You're You
In Public You'll Fall For Another Fake Soul
Like An Unlucky Jester Who Will Lose His Mind
Lost In A World Of Talk
Chit-Chattering About Nothing
Away You wouldn't Care
Here You Fix Your Bangs.
You're The One Who Suffers
It's Hard To be Someone You're Not
But Your Alter Ego Is More Popular
So Thats How It Has To Be
I Know Who You Really Are
I Knowe Your So Called Secrets
I Really Don't Give A Damn
But I Know You Think Everyone Cares
All You Are Is A Jester
Putting On The Show Of A Lifetime
The Show That Lasts A Lifetime
Self Concious Jesters Always Lose Their Minds
-
Heres Another song I wrote because some of my friends are obsessed with metal and I cant stand listening to it for more than 2-3 songs at once.
?Daniel Gillis
Metalheads
Incessant Noise
Power Chords
They Insist On Having It that Way
Always the Same
Deep And Heavy
Fast PAced And Ugly That Way
Is Their #1 Rule
That Mellow Is Bad?
Heavy and Hard
Depressed And Suicidal
Screeches And Gunts
Hard On The Head
How Angry Are People Today?
Metalheads EVERYWHERE!
Not very Poetic perhaps, but it will make a good ol' controversial song
-
Heres are two poems, one with potential for a song maybe., Id make a thread for each, but ones just a Haiku.
Both ? Daniel Gillis
My Love
Your Eyes Shine Like Gold
My Mind Never Leaves Those Eyes
I Wish I Could Tell
You And I
From The Fiery Roots Of Hell
To The Green Grass Of Valleys
From The Black Miles Of Space
To The Beautiful Blue Sky
Everything Will Go...Away Forever
Except You And I
From Black Widow Spiders
To Snakes And Worms
From The Deer and The Geese
To The Fish In The See
Everything Will Go.....Away Somewhere
Except You And I
From A Cold Winters Day
To A Midsummers Night
From A Rainy weekend
To A Sunny Sky
Everything Will Go And Never Return
Except You And I

Anything from Pink Floyd's Piper At The Gates OF Dawn.
THE most psycheadelic. Syd Barrett was without a doubt THE most psychadelic man ever. Then he stopped replying to Syd and grew fat and bald in 7 years. ::

I realize we're a bit behind on this but i saw a program on it last night on CBC and it was touching.
Joni Mitchell was an amazing poet, one of the best of our time. I'm just wondering what people think of her here.
I also heard this song on the radio over the holidays, and it was one of the deepest songs I'd ever heard.
River
It?s coming on christmas
They?re cutting down trees
They?re putting up reindeer
And singing songs of joy and peace
Oh I wish I had a river
I could skate away on
But it don?t snow here
It stays pretty green
I?m going to make a lot of money
Then I?m going to quit this crazy scene
I wish I had a river
I could skate away on
I wish I had a river so long
I would teach my feet to fly
Oh I wish I had a river
I could skate away on
I made my baby cry
He tried hard to help me
You know, he put me at ease
And he loved me so naughty
Made me weak in the knees
Oh I wish I had a river
I could skate away on
I?m so hard to handle
I?m selfish and I?m sad
Now I?ve gone and lost the best baby
That I ever had
Oh I wish I had a river
I could skate away on
I wish I had a river so long
I would teach my feet to fly
Oh I wish I had a river
I made my baby say goodbye
It?s coming on christmas
They?re cutting down trees
They?re putting up reindeer
And singing songs of joy and peace
I wish I had a river
I could skate away on
It was revealed in 1997 that she had put a baby up for adoption. Dhe dated Neil Young y'know...What a baby that would be.
