  1. Oh, well in that case, you are overated! ::
  2. Well, he's overated in the guitar world. For instance, crappy high school guitarists will try to make themselves seem like better and more knowledgable guitarists by saying something about Ywingie Malmsteen. A non guitarist will say "Who's that?" and the high school guitarist (I've heard this exact conversation) will say "You've never heard of him(surprised)!?! Well I don't blame you, he's more well known in the guitar world, he's kind of a guitar-god." IT MAKES ME SO ANGRY! so angry I will put a frowning emoticon. :: extreme frown! :beady:
  3. If you watch Nickolodeon (my brother does all the time) you still hear a few jingles. Like for gator golf "What could be greater than golf with a gator? Gator golf!" But on that chanel its mostly rapping cartoon characters. How about Sleep Country's? "Sleep country, USA! Why buy a matress anywhere else?" or Mattress world "Its not too late to sleep like a baby, Matress world! Actually, its Cyberdemon's fault.
  4. Anything IN MUSIC you think is overated can go in this thread. Guitar Chords (the C chord particularily, and no, I'm not kidding when I say that) High School guitarists in general (just play overated chords one after another) Ywingie Malmsteen "People of the Sun" by RATM
  5. umm...wrong thread. This is the definitive UNDERATED thread. But good idea, I will start a definitive OVERATED thread for you to say that in.
  6. Third Eye Blind had a song called "London" I think.
  7. I wonder what the future will hold for comemercials? Winston ad from the 50s. Think about what the FCC would say about it today!
  8. After all this talk about them I finally got one of their CD's. It was "Metropolis 2: Scenes From A Memory." I haven't listened to the whole thing yet, but so far its great!
  9. What? How did Nirvana rip of the Jimi Hendrix Experience?
  10. Trampoline (yes, its a sport now) - Jump Track - Running with the devil (although that might be interpreted wrong if we were running against countries we didn't like!) or also for track - Run Like Hell (pink floyd) Cycling - Queen's "Bicycle Race" Is there woman's wrestling in the olympics? If so, Queen's "Fat Bottomed Girls" might work Synchronized Swimming - Although it has nothing to do with swimming (its about a homeless man) how about Jethro Tull's "Aqualung?"
  11. This is THE definitive underated thread! Its about absolutely ANYTHING underated in music! A band, a musician, a song, album, concert, instrument, chord, anything! So here's my list (that I can think of) -John Paul Jones -the Bass in general -Flutes (they are the best part of Stairway) -Black Mountain Side by Led Zeppelin -Sitars
  12. SNL is great. They lost all their good people though. Yeah, the "All Aboard, Ha ha ha ha ha" is one of my favorites, I can't believe I forgot it! I like on "D'yer Mak'er" the "Oh oh oow oooooh" before the 'you don't have to go' and also on Welcome to the Jungle the "take me to your nu nu nu nu nu nu nu nu nu nu nu nu kneeeeees kneeeeeeees" and on the Door's "Touch Me" I like the "Come on come on come on come on"
  13. What is your favorite exlamation (something like Yeah! Uh! Oh! Wow!" or something like that) in a song? My faves are Hey Jude's "YEAH YEAH YEAH YEAH! YEAH YEAH YEAH YEAH!" Cat Scratch Fever's "HI!" I Beilieve in a thing called love's "UH!" and "GUITAR!"
  14. I just found out about another inside joke from my mormon friend. Everyone involved with the movie is mormon, and Idahoians are generally mormon. And he had a line after the girl told him to buy a string thing he says "Duh, I allready made infinity of those at scout camp!" and most mormons are in the boy scouts. coincidence? or inside joke? either way, with all these inside jokes, I'm wondering if putting each actors name on the food at the start had anything to do with anything. For instance they put one person's name on a hamburger. Is that actor a 'hamburger' type of guy? whatever that means?
  15. er...and george on guitar thats pretty funny!
  16. I like Nirvana, but they are just getting old. They only have two good albums out of 3, so I'm tired of em
  17. I did that just the other day!
  18. Hooray for negativity and criticism! Post your least favorite movies, and why you don't like them. I liked Scary movie 3, haven't seen 1, but I HATED 2! It was so stupid! Just an hour of sex jokes, and unfunny ones at that. I was walking out of Napoleon Dynamite, and I heard this third grader type kid saying "That was good, but Scary Movie 2 was 100x funnier! Like, remember with the parrot, and he's swearing?" I think the only reason some people liked it is because they are young and like to impress their other 3rd grade friends by saying they saw it. Or maybe they really do think its funny! I don't think it was though.
  19. Well, I don't know about smart intelligent humor, my 9 year old brother went and saw it and he understood all the jokes. It is very good though. The jokes are funny, and its not the average movie which is an hour+1/2 of sex jokes and swearing. I have nothing against sex jokes and swearing except they aren't funny and don't improve the quality of the movie. This is a good movie though.
  20. I always thought that it would be hilarious (and a little sad) if AC/DC did an AT&T commercial where they were singing this song to the tune of "TNT" AT&T! Its dynomite! AT&T! Calling people all night! AT&T! Its a power phone! AT&T! Long distance rates explooooooooooooode! wouldn't that be funny? And how about the song "I want action tonight, satisfaction tonight!" What if it was a tinactin athletes foot commercial? "I want tinactin tonight!"
  21. is that the one where he is saying "He's going the distance, he's going for speed?" Its a good riff! All Along the Watchtower is a good Hendrix bass riff, I think he actually did the bass on that song I wanna Rock n Roll all night has a good bass riff Money by Pink Floyd is my favorite though.
