  3. Phosphorescent's "Muchacho" is really good. Sounds like if Bright Eyes decided to go in a slightly more country direction.
  4. New Daft Punk album might be the best album of the year so far/Daft Punk's best album
  5. 1. Happy Together – Filter (2009) 2. Where Did You Sleep Last Night? - Nirvana (1994) (You can just hear the death in his voice on this one, it's amazing) 3. 6. The new Vampire Weekend album is good. It's different from their past two in some aspects, but it's pretty good. Though I'd say it's the weakest of their three albums so far.
  7. Youth Lagoon's "Wondrous Bughouse" is quite good. Lots of moving parts to it, a great example of neo-psychedelia. Took me a couple listens to really appreciate it, one of those albums that to really get it, you have to stop and just listen to it. Good though, I enjoyed it.
  8. The new album from Born Ruffians, "Birthmarks", is everything I hoped it would be and more.

  10. Thanks! I would agree, it's not perfect, but we've got a lot of new stuff that needs production. Once that's together, I think we'll have a nice coherent album.
  11. Hey gang, So along with a couple friends of mine, I have been working on a new musical project (a band) for roughly the past six months. We're called Hellion, and we've just released our first EP. I hope you guys take a moment to download and listen to it. It's available for "pay what you want" (read as: free) on our bandcamp page, and hopefully you'll also take a moment to like us on Facebook. Enjoy guys, hope you like it. 12. I felt the same at first, but the second half of the album is great. The first half is whatever, but the second half is very introspective and very well done. For example, this song. That being said, I didn't think the album was amazing or anything. Altogether, I thought it was pretty good.
  13. If you want to hear a new artist who sounds like a replacement Liz Phair, check out Waxahatchee's new album "Cerulean Salt". It's pretty good.
  14. "If I Ever Leave This World Alive" - Flogging Molly (2002) "I Know What I Am" - Band Of Skulls (2009) "Peach" - Ten Feet Deep (2010)
  15. If we do PTTs, I think I would do all modern music. Did my own "personal favorites" last time, I think I'd enjoy doing some modern music.
  16. "Anxiety" by Autre Ne Veut. Listen to it, it's amazing. Seriously.
  17. Oh wow, I totally forgot about the PTT. I would love to do one of those again.
  18. 1. New Morning- Bob Dylan (1970) 2. Radioactive - Imagine Dragons (2013) 3. I'm Waiting For The Man - The Velvet Underground (1967) 4. Like Eating Glass- Bloc Party (2005) 5. 19. Kurt Vile's new album is pretty good. Imagine if Lou Reed were a folk singer, you'll probably get a good idea of what Kurt Vile sounds like.

  22. They're so formulaic and cheesy but I love them so much.
  23. I've always loved Badfinger's version, though Nilsson's is good too. My favorite has always been Air Supply's though, and that's because I have an incredibly weak spot for Air Supply despite how embarrassing that may be. Russell Hitchcock just owns it with his awesome voice
  24. "Mean Street"- Van Halen (1981) "Calamity Song"- The Decemberists (2011) "Bait And Switch"- The Shins (2012)
  25. It's so good. "You Lust" is a little meh for me, but "You Are Alone", "Be Free, A Way" and "The Terror" are all SO good.
