  4. Oh I know, I was mostly just referencing that song as a joke because of how bad it is. I doubt most anyone remembers anything Genesis or Collins recorded in the early 90s. I would put the video for I Cant Dance (or Jesus He Loves Me) on a worst videos of the 90's list though. I do like the song "No Son of Mine" though, it's possibly their best with Collins.

I have three favorite songs of theirs when Phil Collins became the lead vocalist; Many Too Many, That's All, Follow You Follow Me. I like *some* of his 80s solo numbers, but I don't like the 90s-era Genesis at all.

  5. Even if you didn't want to use any contemporary artists, the following female singers are NOT in the TT:

    Ella Fitzgerald

    Billie Holliday

    Kay Starr

    Pattie Page

    The McGuire Sisters

    The Andrews Sisters

    Rosemary Clooney

That's just from the 30s-50s. I could go through my iTunes library and pull up about 50 female singers from the 1980s onward that aren't in either. I'm sorry, I'd much rather see one of those artists, or one of the myriad of female singers from the 1980s to the present get in, than see everyone nominating Aretha Franklin, Carole King, Joni Mitchell, and Diana Ross. They're in, we already know they're great. Why not let artists who've maybe never even been nominated before get their chance to shine?

  6. Just a reminder, next week will be a New Artists (that don't have a song that's made it before) special, unless somebody can think of a better way to celebrate #333.

If you're wanting to do a "New Artists" special, you should make it accurate to the title, and the songs nominated should be from artists who've only been around the last maybe 5 years or so. Because while there might be a song from 1929 that hasn't made the TT yet, I wouldn't call the person who performed it a "new artist."

Otherwise just call it like it is: "Artists Who Haven't Made the Top Ten Yet."
