Oh Laurie, you'll be happy to know that because of the finale episode of Breaking Bad, Badfinger's song "Baby Blue" is climbing back up the iTunes charts. I saw someone mention that on Twitter and thought, "Gee, I know someone who loved Badfinger that'll get a kick out of that."

More Than A Woman
Bee Gees
Written by Barry, Maurice, and Robin Gibb, it's featured on the soundtrack to the film Saturday Night Fever. It's the song Tony and Stephanie dance to during the disco dance contest at 101 Odyssey. This isn't the only version of the song to be found on the soundtrack; the cover by Tavares is featured when the same characters are rehearsing for the contest at a dance studio. The original was not released as a single, though it peaked in Italy at #4, whereas Tavares' cover reached #32 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #36 on the Hot R&B Singles chart. It also peaked at #7 in the UK.

I'm surprised by the number of tracks from country artists (Carrie, Taylor, The Band Perry, Lady Antebellum) I ended up liking, as I don't really care for country music. That was a nice surprise.

They were great songs, Laurie. Much deserved!

I think you misunderstood what I said. I said I was 1 pt. away this week from getting the #1 song for the 2nd week in a row, and I thought that was funny.
-
Wow, I was one point away from a #1 two weeks in a row. LOL
I was surprised that Stay hadn't made it in already, it's such a classic track -- good to see that's been fixed.

This incredible 50's style doo-wop cover of Miley Cyrus' song "We Can't Stop." I know what you're thinking....you really have to listen to this. The singer has a phenomenal voice, and the arrangement is outstanding. Check out their other videos as well; they've done incredible old-timey arrangements of current songs, making even the dreck sound listenable.

AWWWWW YEEEEAAAAA. I've been listening to "Check Your Head" like a madman the past couple days. It's so fantastic.
It's their best album, hands down. As different as Paul's Boutique was from Licensed to Ill (and thank God for that), CYH was radically different from Paul's Boutique. PB didn't sell that well and they didn't tour for it, which meant their next album had to make an impact, or they would effectively have been toast. So, they picked their instruments back up, putting live music into rap, mixed with the samples. Also, it showed off their love for funk, old-school jazz, and blues.
They are seriously underrated musicians. Listen to The Mix-Up if you get a chance; an entire album of new instrumentals.

Oh, look what has my #1 vote. Love me some Beasties. LOVE THEM. They are so damn talented.

What about getting all 3 of your noms into the top 5, including the top 2 spots? A very rare feat in these 10s.
I always like it when my songs get in, especially if I happen to snag the #1 spot, but I've been yelled at in the past for mentioning that I'm happy my songs made it, so I just don't do it anymore, and instead compliment other songs I like that managed to get in too.
