I *knew* it would be you, Edna. Well done.

Okay, who is this bad boy?: LBB

Okay, I might not be clever, but at least I'm the one who nominated him. This is Len Barry, David Soul's separated-at-birth twin. LB

Can someone tell me that I'm clever and send me my prize now? Lee

Jailbreak - AC/DC 1974 (a classic rock n roll film clip) Run-Away - Super Furry Animals 2007 LBB -
Sometimes I'm glad I don't speak British.

Ahhh well done, Fin! Although "as mainstream as ... shoegaze can get" is a pretty big clue ;-)

Actually, MC said that it *wasn't* Michael Hutchence, so Levis gets the prize. Yay!!! That is indeed a quite young Hutchence, I'd say a couple of years before INXS went big outside Australia, maybe about the time Nile Rodgers produced "The Swing" album. I remember a big outdoor festival in 1982, and the final night's line-up was Pretenders, Talking Heads and INXS. They were all great, as you'd expect, but Michael and the boys just blew the others off the stage. What a night!! LBB

That doesn't look like shoddy rhyming to me. The main rhyme is "down/around", and "life/side" is a fine pair for the non-stressed centre of the lines. I hope we have moved past lips/fingertips by now, to a point where we can be more flexible and just *hint* at rhyme when the situation demands. But then again, I'm no poet ;-) LBB

Welly, it's April 25th, ANZAC Day, the holiest day in the Australian calendar. It's now 94 years since the Australian and New Zealand forces landed at the Gallipoli peninsula in Turkey. They fought and they died and they lost. (In passing, let me recommend the beautiful film "Gallipoli" to you all. Mel Gibson was once someone you could admire.) A Turkish officer, the enemy, a man who went on to become the founder of modern Turkey, Kemal Ataturk, wrote these words in tribute, som eof the finest words ever written, I daresay: Enjoy the day. Try your hand at a game of two-up and drink yourself some real beer. It's all a part of the tradition. See ya! Lee.

The Songfactors' Choice Top Ten #163

Well, I would have bet a squillion dollars against Einstürzende Neubauten outscoring Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark by almost three times. I guess I could cope with the shock, if only Blur had got up... sigh ;-( LBB -
Wow! Thanks for that ;-) Anyways, I thought Krist one was pretty obvious. That's still the same face he's always had. But how about this guy?: Should be easy enough for some... LBB

Krist Novoselic? Poor guy, he looks like me now ;-( LBB

In Australia, that is often mistakenly taken as a sign that you are a member of the Democrats (no relation).
-
Traditionally, only mad people stick 'em in the top paddock, Marc. That would be like keeping bats in your belfry, or fairies at the bottom of your garden. Any other paddock is fine. On another related side note, I bet I could have guessed your kanga's name, if you had told me its initials. L, L.
-
Not "you" singular, Marc... "you" plural, as in "you all thought I had kangaroos in my top paddock", "you all thought I was a couple of sausages short of a barbie", "you all have no faith in my innate genius". I guess I'm just bitter and twisted that my George Washington hypothesis wasn't hailed as a breakthrough moment in SongFactor history ;-) See ya, LBB

And you thought I was crazy...

I wouldn't go quite that far. There was a conspicuous period in the 60s when the most popular bands in the world were also, and non-controversially, the best. I don't know that that has ever been repeated, and I don't know if it's likely to happen again, not for such a sustained period anyway. What do you reckon? LBB
-
You're all right, of course. He was quite an amazing looking guy. Rock god indeed. L.

Well it has to be Joe Walsh then!!! And assuming it is, here's really simple one, but it's a great picture: LBB
