  1. Lois Griffin: You should spend some time with our kids, Peter. And with me.

Peter Griffin: Uh, what could me and you do together?

    [Lois giggles]

Peter Griffin: Lois. You've got a sick mind.

Lois Griffin: Peter, I'm talking about making love.

Peter Griffin: Oh. I thought you wanted us to murder the children and harvest their organs for beer money.

  3. Sticking with the Canadian theme there was ?Four on the Floor? a short lived sketch comedy show in the mid 80?s with some of the funniest, most off-the-wall skits ever. Another great cult classic sketch show was ?SCTV? with John Candy, Joe Flaherty, Eugene Levy, Catherine O?Hara and the two greatest brothers ever, Bob and Doug McKenzie ? Rick Moranis and Dave Thomas.

Don't touch that dial! Don't touch that one either! And stop touching yourself! SCTV is on the air!

How about ?Beachcombers?, it ran throughout the 70?s and 80?s. I want to live on a houseboat, what an awesome show. There was also ?The Littlest Hobo?

"There's a voice that keeps on calling me.

Down the road. That's where I'll always be.

Oh, every stop I make, I make a new friend.

Can't stay for long. Just turn around, and I'm gone again.

Maybe tomorrow, I'll want to settle down.

Until tomorrow, I'll just keep movin' on.

So, if you want to join me for awhile,

just grab your hat, and we'll travel light. That's hobo style.

Maybe tomorrow, I'll want to settle down.

Until tomorrow, I'll just keep movin' on.

Until tomorrow, the whole world is my home."

And we sure cant forget Richard Dean Anderson and MacGyver, the things he could do with that Swiss Army Knife!

  4. Set to launch in late July, Gigantour is a six-week festival trek co-headlined by MEGADETH and DREAM THEATER, who'll be accompanied by other main-stage acts FEAR FACTORY, THE DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN and NEVERMORE. Artists for the second stage will be announced in the coming weeks.

Between Ozzfest and now Gigantour, there is going to be a whole slue of new and old metal for all to enjoy? bring on the summer!!

  5. If I was in Raymond's family, I would have choked every f***ing one of them to death - starting with Raymond - and I would have enjoyed doing it. Then I would have made myself a pizza and sat down and watched reruns of "Married With Children", which is a hundred times funnier and a thousand times more realistic.

I?m glad to see someone who shares the same shear hatred for ?Everybody Loves Raymond? I hate it with every fiber of my being, it?s the stupidest show on television. They keep crap like that on TV yet were on the verge of canceling Arrested Development, which I my mind is up there as one of the funniest shows on TV right now. TV executives, what goes through their minds?

  6. One of my favorite story themed songs, true story for that matter, is ?The Wreck Of The Edmund Fitzgerald? by Gordon Lightfoot. The SS Edmund Fitzgerald sank in Lake Superior 20 years ago. Gordon Lightfoot's song is a tribute to this shipwreck and the men who lost their lives. On November 10, 1975 the SS Edmund Fitzgerald sank in Lake Superior. All 29 crewmembers died. At the time, it was the worst shipping disaster on the Great Lakes.

Sticking with Lightfoot, there is the song ?Black Day In July?, which was written after the 1967 Detroit riots. It began simply enough, police raided an illegal bar in the inner city, known as a ?Blind Pig? a place to get a drink after the bars closed. The rioting quickly spread to encompass over fourteen square miles of Detroit?s neighborhoods. Unlike earlier outbreaks, the ?67 riots were indiscriminate, mobs torched and plundered black businesses as freely as white ones and burned down a number of black homes. Both blacks and whites participated in looting, burning and rioting. Forty-three people lay dead by the time the 1967 Detroit riot ended five days later on July 28.

    Go Gordon!!

  7. The North American metal scene is unfortunately dieing out. Some of the greatest metal bands to ever grace metal fan ears have never even played a date in this continent, e.g. Sentenced. Meanwhile over in Europe the metal scene is going strong with a huge fan base and great media support, while here in North America we are forced to listen to the latest bulls**t treads that corporate sponsors believe will make them move more product. One look at the lineup for WOA and various other major metal festivals Europe hosts and you quickly see that metal isn?t dead. It?s just not a big enough cash cow here in North America to be popular in a lot of peoples eyes.

    Kai Hansen, Gamma Ray

"I think the metal scene in Europe is more vital and it's maybe more true in a way because in America I know it's more or less up to the bands. A lot of bands in America are just following trends and a lot of people who make music in America don't just make music for the sake of making music...they do it just to get famous, to get rich, to be somebody. I think that's not the point about making music. You have to do it because you love to do it and not because you want to be somebody. You have to be somebody first as a person and then comes the second part being somebody for the public."

    Steve Kachinsky, Steel Prophet

"I think a lot of it is that there's strong press over there. In Germany you have Rock Hard, Heavy or what magazine, Metal Hammer and in each of these European countries you have some rather large magazines with good circulation and they get the word out about the underground bands. I think that's got a lot to do with it and that in turn means you get new listeners coming in. When we toured with Gamma Ray and Edguy, we'd look out into the audience and it wasn't like a metal show here in the US where it's mostly people over 30 because there you see plenty of teenagers, people in their early 20's and you see some older headbangers too of course. It's still gaining respect and popularity with younger people over there and that's kind of what I see it NOT doing here.

    Mark Briody, Jag Panzer

"It's so different over there. It's like MTV has control over no anyone's mind over there."

    Jon Drenning, Crimson Glory

"Over in Europe it's as big as it ever was right now. That wave of metal is coming to the shores of America as we speak."

  8. The song opens up with Pink's concerns of war, rooted with his father's death. He then wonders if "they", (meaning society, his peers, the world) will like his song or try to break him down. Now he asks his mother if he should build a wall...his mother's haunting answer can be found later. Pink questions whether he should run for president when he is older, but this does not literally mean president to me. It is there to show that Pink has dreams and hopes.

    http://utopia.knoware.nl/users/ptr/pfloyd/review/wall_floyd.html

Pink's youthful imaginings shine through even amidst his budding paranoia when he asks if he should "run for president." To clear up a few misconceptions, I seriously doubt that this is a realistic dream of running for United States president considering that Pink is, after all, British. Rather, I believe that the unspecified presidency is used to show that despite his hardening world and personal views, Pink is still young and thus full of childlike expectations and dreams. All dream of being great and important figures at some time or another, Pink is no exception. Still, his momentary dreams of great political power are quashed when his overpowering apprehension takes over when he questions the trustworthiness of the government, wondering if "they'll put me in the firing line." Once again, the "they" is unspecified and can refer to either the actual government or anyone who assails and criticizes those with power. As Pink realizes, power and greatness merely emphasize the vulnerability of a person; when one is in the spotlight, he or she is that much more susceptible to public criticism and attack.
