  1. "Fat fingered typists"? Haha, not sure what that means, am I making a lot of typos that I missed? As far as the instruments I'm into, I like anything with a guitar in it, but it's not a necessity(in this case). I'm really into the sound of the piano and horns though. For bands that I already like... I really can't think of much in that genre. Honestly, have you ever heard The Seatbelts from Cowboy Bebop? It's kinda sad, but that was my first good experience with Jazz or anything of the sort. I've been to a jazz bar a time or two, after that, and really liked the atmosphere. I have heard many bands that I liked, but you know how when your first getting into a band or genre and everything kinda blends together? Yeah, it's kinda like that....
  2. Throughout the years I've occasionally listened to some jazz and blues, and liked a lot of it... but I never really got into it. Now I have a sudden craving for it, but I have no idea where to look. Everything I've come across is this really slow, lyricless stuff from WAY back in the day. I'm looking for something with a little kick to it, something that can really get the blood flowing. There are just so many variations of the genre, and I have no idea where to look, so if anyone could recommend a few band/artists I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance, and I hope this isn't in the wrong place. Q&A just made sense
  3. Hey, thanks Seeker. I've been around (and a member of) the main site for quite some time now, and I finally decided to check out the forums. Seems like a cool place. And I know I'll be around a bit because all my friends are sick of my hour long rants on the subject of music, soooo
  4. Haha, most anything by Tool, I'd have to say. Their trippy/metaphorical song titles is what originally drew me into the band: Ænima Lateralus Rosetta Stoned H. Stinkfist Fourty-six & 2 Swamp Song The Gaping Lotus Experience Maynard's **** Die Eier Von Satan Merkaba And oh-so many more I've always needed a dictionary and encyclopedia to figure out what half these things mean every time I get a new Tool Album
  5. I prefer female vocals, by far, but its hard to actually have it work in rock music(which I predominantly listen to). I've had the biggest crush on Shirley Manson since I first heard Garbage... But other than Sneaker Pimps, that's pretty much the only bands with a female vocalist that I even listen too. I think if done right, female vocalists can lead some of the most beautiful music possible... But there's just so much room for error. I can remember listening to Kitty after a friend was bugging me about it.. And I have to say, it wasn't enjoyable. The screeching and grunting made my blood curdle, yet I can stomach any metal band with a male vocalist. Maybe it's a little chauvinistic, on my part but when I listen to woman singing, I expect her to sing as pretty and she looks
