  1. Hi Ron. I think you're probably right. I recall something similar but different. Back when "we" were young and free, my compadres and I would sit around and play a lot of Neil Young on guitars and harmonica. I remember starting the song off with the harmonica part I refer to. There's a really good chance I modified that part to the way it "should" have been or my memory is slipping a bit as Time Fades Away. :guitar:

    Thanks,

    Logan

  2. So Clara, allow to me a free ride please. I've always been a huge Neil Young fan, though, much more in the 70s than any other time. There's a song that's been on my mind for the past couple of years and I can't put my finger on it. I believe it was one of his later albums, relatively speaking. Harvest, etc, in that time frame. The only thing I can remember is I believe the song began with a slow harmonica solo for perhaps 10+ seconds or so and then drums, guitar, vocals, etc. Very popular song among folks who like Neil Young.

    thanks,

  3. Hi Edna. Have yet to locate a sample. Found one site which had the lp and their inhouse made cd for 70.00+ dollars U.S. Can't believe it's that difficult to locate. I emailed "The Letterman" and asked them if they could provide a lead for me to either purchase the album or download. Wait and see. Probably think I'm some kook. I've had great success in contacting artists these past couple of years with excellent results. Only thing I can figure on that is if the artist maintains a degree of seperation from their "handlers" they turn out to be down to earth folks willing to bend over backwards to help. That's pretty neat to experience.

  4. First of all, I apologize for piggybacking on the other thread; should have never done that. Here is my original thread with an edit added to the bottom:

Speaking of graduation, do any of you "more experienced" folks recall a song from the 60s, I believe" that included the lyrics, graduation girl, i'm in love with you? I've been looking for this off and on ever since Gore invented the internet. Now I'm beginning to wonder if it's my imagination. That one line went this way: Grad Uuu aaation girl, I'm in love with you. Seems like part of the melody was similar to the common graduation song. A band with harmony like the Beach Boys, the Letterman, etc.

    thanks,

    logan

EDIT: The line "I'm in love with you" may well be my imagination. As I rewind my memory, the possibility exists I used those words as filler. The "graduation girl" lyrics and melody remain the same.

  6. Now I'll be the first to say my hearing ain't for squat. With that said, my impression was "holding tears". I like the possibility of flowing tears. Another reply the poster received from a different forum included that, to them, it sounded like it was "like some classic cowboy movie" tune. Don't think so.

  7. Try this:

    Verse 1

    Autumn breeze blowing

    Wind of whispering sighs

    I can't help knowing

    You're blowing me a surprise

    Verse 2

    Autumn breeze flowing

    Like a melody

    I can't help glowing

    Knowing what you bring me

The included lyrics were obtained by accessing the listed website (looks like a ripoff) and by "borrowing" my wife's big a*# sewing room magnifying glass (the large circular type with a neon light), I was able to read and write them. The magnifying glass will now go out to my shop until the sewing bug hits again. Thank you, I have been need ing a magnifier like that for quite some time.

    :o

  8. I agree, there's something I really like about that song. I like the recording they did from the club and being able to see where that voice is coming from. Pretty soulful little gal. :) A "cleaner" quality recording can be heard from their myspace:

  9. Unbelieveable. I got the song. "Cold Cold" by Stephanie's Id. Last night, I emailed The Weather Channel, Warren Miller Productions who filmed it (they do a lot of skiing, snowboarding, kite boarding films, etc, and REALwatersports.com. Bryan at Real Water Sports replied with the answer. That sure was nice of him and once again, thank you all.
