  1. The Bar-Kays~Soul Finger I can't listen to this song without thinking of marching band season!
  2. The Mighty Mighty Bosstones~Another Drinkin' Song EDIT: 700th post! I believe this is the forum I have the most posts on. (Due to this thread and it's predecessors, no doubt)
  3. I've played trombone for about 5 years, and can play a bit of euphonium/baritone too, as basically it's the same instrument. (I play baritone in marching band, trombone in concert/jazz band) I've also played marimba for about a year, since I joined indoor percussion last year at out school. We didn't get assigned insruments until the day we got out music, but we were taught technique, since hardly any of us had played mallets before. I got marimba I and LOVE it. If anybody's interested in seeing me play Marimba, click here. (Gnomon is our "name," like our HS guard is "Essay Perfornamce Company") I'm zoomed in on at 2:45.
  4. Oh be glad you don't have to listen to it in the car every time we go anywhere. My mother recently became obsessed with Train. So, whenever we make a trip to somewhere more than 3 minutes away, in goes Save Me San Fransisco! Hey Soul Sister is a really good, catchy pop song, though! But it's too popular to me, an indie fan to like it.
  5. Gorillaz~On Melancholy Hill I might pick up Plastic Beach sometime soon.
  6. LCD Soundsystem~This Is Happening I was in DC about a week ago and the Borders at the corner of 14th and F was closing and there was 30% off almost everything in the store. But bags were 5 cents extra... Anyway, it's a good alt. electronic album.
  7. The Format~Wait, Wait, Wait. (I know, I haven't been on here in A LOOOONGG time.)
  8. MGMT~Time To Pretend I'm feeling rough, I'm feeling raw, I'm in the prime of my life. Let's make some music, make some money, find some models for wives. I'll move to Paris, shoot some heroin, and f**k with the stars. You man the island and the cocaine and the elegant cars. This is our decision, to live fast and die young. We've got the vision, now let's have some fun. Yeah, it's overwhelming, but what else can we do. Get jobs in offices, and wake up for the morning commute. Forget about our mothers and our friends We're fated to pretend To pretend We're fated to pretend To pretend I'll miss the playgrounds and the animals and digging up worms I'll miss the comfort of my mother and the weight of the world I'll miss my sister, miss my father, miss my dog and my home Yeah, I'll miss the boredom and the freedom and the time spent alone. There's really nothing, nothing we can do Love must be forgotten, life can always start up anew. The models will have children, we'll get a divorce We'll find some more models, everything must run it's course. We'll choke on our vomit and that will be the end We were fated to pretend To pretend We're fated to pretend To pretend Yeah, yeah, yeah Yeah, yeah, yeah Yeah, yeah, yeah Yeah, yeah, yeah
  9. 5/10. Not really my thing The Ruse~Beautiful is Gone
  10. The Postal Service~Clark Gable I was waiting for a cross-town train in the london underground when it struck me that I've been waiting since birth to find a love that would look and sound like a movie so I changed my plans I rented a camera and a van and then I called you "I need you to pretend that we are in love again." and you agreed too I want so badly to believe that "there is truth, that love is real" and I want life in every word to the extent that it's absurd I greased the lens and framed the shot using a friend as my stand-in the script it called for rain but it was clear that day so we faked it the marker snapped and I yelled "quiet on the set" and then called "action!" and I kissed you in a style clark gable would have admired (i thought it classic) I want so badly to believe that "there is truth, that love is real" and I want life in every word to the extent that it's absurd i know you're wise beyond your years, but do you ever get the Feel that your perfect verse is just a lie you tell yourself to help you get by
  11. The Postal Service~The District Sleeps Alone Tonight
  12. Fastball~The Way They made up their minds And they started packing They left before the sun came up that day An exit to eternal summer slacking But where were they going without ever knowing the way? They drank up the wine And they got to talking They now had more important things to say And when the car broke down, they started walking Where were they going without ever knowing the way? Anyone could see, the road that they walk on is paved in gold It's always summer, they'll never get cold They'll never get hungry They'll never get old and gray You can see their shadows wandering off somewhere They won't make it home But they really don't care They wanted the highway They're happy there today, today The children woke up And they couldn't find 'em They left before the sun came up that day They just drove off And left it all behind 'em But where were they going without ever knowing the way? Anyone could see the road that they walk on is paved in gold It's always summer, they'll never get cold They'll never get hungry They'll never get old and gray You can see their shadows wandering off somewhere They won't make it home But they really don't care They wanted the highway They're happy there today, today Anyone could see the road that they walk on is paved in gold It's always summer, they'll never get cold They'll never get hungry They'll never get old and gray You can see their shadows wandering off somewhere They won't make it home But they really don't care They wanted the highway They're happy there today, today
