  1. Thanks Ian, Ken and Elena. You make me sound like the Scarlet Pimpernel, Dear Elena. Many of you would know that I used to sell Stamps on the Internet - not just 'boring' ones, but ones of Musos and Movie Legends. I used some of them as 'prizes' in the monthly Quiz I used to run. For a few years now I've been the co-ordinator for selling stamps donated through our Church. So far this year we've raised $960.00. It's very time consuming wading through thousands of stamps and picking out saleable ones. I probably throw away 10 times as many as I sell - torn, too heavily postmarked, etc. I've let it go a bit and have boxes to sort through now. But it's worth the time, as we are currently sending all proceeds for the care and schooling of children who were orphaned by the 2011 Japanese earthquake/tsunami. There are also many adults who can't return to their homes for another 3 years because of the radiation from the damaged Nuclear Plant.
  2. I hope everyone knew about that. I wouldn't like to "claim" Beatles and Stones.
  3. Dear Carole. Your friendship has meant a lot to me. :inlove: I love you all and I'll come around for the PTTs, but I think this week's Top Ten will be my last for a while.
  4. Thanks Elena and Tim. I'll nominate in this week's TT but that might be it for a while. Maybe I can drop by to vote in my other friends' PTTs - I think yours must be coming up soon Tim ? Can't miss that.
  5. All Shook Up - Elvis Presley (1957) Hot Stuff - Rolling Stones (1976) Magical Mystery Tour - The Beatles (1967) One last Beatles' song from me !
  6. There were 3 completely different Hit songs with "I'll Never Fall In Love Again" as the title. The 1969 Burt Bacharach song (covered by many artists), one by Tom Jones in 1967 and this one by Johnnie Ray from 1959. It only made #75 in the U.S. but reached #1 here in Australia. I'll Never Fall In Love Again - Johnnie Ray (1959)
  7. I heard a number of new (to me) songs that I liked + some I did know when I heard them. You sure have a very broad knowledge of Music. 1. Skyfall - Adele (2012) 2. Heaven Is A Place On Earth - Belinda Carlisle (1987) 3. I’ll Be There - Mariah Carey (1992) 4. Mighty Rivers - Kylie Minogue (2010) 5. Erase/Rewind - The Cardigans (1998) 6. Falling Down - Oasis (2008) 7. Don’t Rush Me - Taylor Dayne (1989) 8. High And Dry - Radiohead (1995) 9. One More Try - George Michael (1988) 10. Kyrie - Mr. Mister (1986)
  8. Good pickup Kenne. There's been a few lately. I did it with 'Return To Sender' I know. I'm going to double check any others I nominate. Bad luck for Carole - she had #1 and #2 before that PS: Are you sure the Billy Joel song hasn't been in before ? That would make 'Dream Baby' #1.
  9. I've just been having a closer look at the Ten you chose and I'm very pleased with the outcome. Fancy 3 'Country Ladies' making it ! And 2 of my favorite Instrumentals. A big THANK YOU to you all, especially Kenne for all the work he's putting into these PTT's. Good job Mate.
  10. Hi Beth. I only know 3 from the Titles - probably more when I hear them - so I'll be doing a bit of listening before I vote. Belinda's looking good for my #1.
  11. Thanks Jeff. And my thanks to you, Ron, Brad, Ben, Shawna, Ian (hope you Barb, Gillian and Colin had a good vacation) and Shannon for participating ! (Fancy seeing you after so long. I'm so glad you voted). Also thanks to all my other good friends who voted. I haven't been on here for a few days. Val and I minded our 9 yr old grandson, Christopher, when he was home from school sick over a week ago, and whatever he had - we got it too. It really flattened us - still feeling off, but definitely much better. Of course, I was worse. It's a known fact that men are always hardest hit.( Cough.)

  17. Good on you Joe. I think you know that Sleep Walk is my all time favorite Instrumental. If it doesn't make it here, I'll try it in next week's TT.
  18. Burt Bacharach's songs have been covered by many artists, and we probably all have our own favorite versions of them. This one was a #1 in both Australia and the U.K. in 1969. It failed to chart in the U.S., with Dionne Warwick's version being preferred there and reaching #6. I'll Never Fall In Love Again - Bobbie Gentry (1969)
  19. Thanks Brad. I changed it to 'Heart' from the Musical 'Damn Yankees'.
  20. Thanks for voting Carole and Sammy. Carole, the Oldies must be good, because they keep getting covered, and are used on so many Movie soundtracks. And Sammy,'or Womack' is spot on in that studio recording. The late Cecil Womack is just a spectator to Linda and her backup singers.
