Billy Joel - "Scenes From An Italian Restaurant"
YOU ARE MY FRIGGIN HERO!!!
Sorry, got a little excited

I figured someone would have mentioned this one already... am I the only person who knows this song?
Gary Allan - Songs About Rain
Well this town has closed down, way too early
And there's nothing to do
So I'm driving around in circles
And I'm thinking about you
Today I heard you got a new last name
I sure didn't know it was gonna hit me this way
And the radio just keeps on playing all these
Songs About Rain...
Now there's all kinds of songs about babies
and love that goes right,
But for some unknown reason
Nobody wants to play them tonight,
Hey, I hope it's sunny wherever you are
That's sure not the picture, tonight in my car
And it sure ain't easin' my pain
All these songs like...
"Rainy Night In Georgia"
and "Kentucky Rain"
"Here Comes That Rainy Day Feeling Again",
"Blue Eyes Cryin" in the "Early Morning Rain"
They go on and on, and there's no two the same
Oh it would be easy to blame all these
Songs About Rain
Well, I thought I was over you
But I guess maybe I'm not
'Cause when I let you go
Looks like lonely is all that I got
I guess I'll never know what could have been
it sure ain't helping this mood that I'm in
If they're gonna keep on playin these songs like...
"Rainy Night In Georgia"
and "Kentucky Rain"
"Here Comes That Rainy Day Feeling Again",
"Blue Eyes Cryin" in the "Early Morning Rain"
They go on and on, and there's no two the same
Oh how I wish I could blame all these
Songs About Rain
All these Songs About Rain...

Am I the only one then, who heard this song and thought "Hey, that's a catchy chorus"?
no, you're not. I was actually hanging out with some friends on a houseboat this past Sunday and that song was on the radio during a cd change, and about 5 or 6 of us spent a good 20 minutes talking about how it makes no sense but "D*mmit, it's catchy"
So you're not alone ::

"Ghost" by the Indigo Girls, the third verse is:
Now I see a face before me
that would launch a thousand ships
To bring your heart back to my island
As the sand beneath me slips
'Cause I burn up in your presence
And I know now how it feels
To be weakened like Achilles
With you always at my heels
That's all I can think of off the top of my head, but I'll email some of my friends from my old latin class and see if they can come up with any.

Britney Spears' first song, Hit Me Baby One More Time (I think it's called), has a backwards message in it. At the part where she says "When I'm not with you I lose my mind" it Sounds like "Sleep with me I'm not too young"Actually, it sounds more like " dnim ym esool I uoy htiw ton m'I nehw" .... which is Bulgarian for "this song is a pile of crap, turn it off right now"
I think I just soiled myself...

As far as second-chance songs go, I'm a huge fan of John Mayer's "Back To You" (but then I'm a huge fan of pretty much all John Mayer's stuff... except his new album, I was disappointed... anyway, rambling, sorry)
For burning love I'm gonna have to go with "In Your Eyes" by Peter Gabriel. I love that song.
Um... my brain hurts, I can't think right now.

There was that strange duet between Nat and Natalie Cole, where she recorded over tapes of her dead father.
"Unforgettable" was the name of it.

I don't know if it counts as "Classic Rock" but I'm a HUGE fan of Pearl Jam's cover of "Last Kiss"

"Ghost" by the Indigo Girls
Dark and dangerous like a secret, that's whispered in a hush
When I wake the things I dreamt about you last night make me blush
Then you kiss me like a lover, and you sting me like a viper
I will follow to the river, play your memory like the piper
And I feel it like a sickness, how this love is killing me
But I'd walk into the fingers of your fire willingly
And dance the edge of sanity, I've never been this close
In love with your ghost
Now I see a face before me that would launch a thousand ships
To bring your heart back to my island, as the sand beneath me slips
'Cause I burn up in your presence, and I know now how it feels
To be weakened like Achilles, with you always at my heels
My bitter pill to swallow is the silence that I keep
It poisons me, I can't swim free, the river is too deep
Though I'm baptised by your touch, I am no worse at most
In love with your ghost

That freakin' feather theme from Forrest Gump, I get hysterical just thinking about it.

I forgot about this band, I remember this song coming out in the mid 90's, I always thought of them as a sort of Pearl Jam wannabee, but still a pretty decent band that completely faded into oblivion.
Yeah, it took me FOR-FREAKING-EVER to find out who sang it a couple years ago. I had like 2 lines of the chorus stuck in my head and couldn't find it to save my life. I don't think I've ever heard any other songs by them though.
