  1. One that helped me a lot is "I Survived You" by Clay Aiken. If you like country "There's More To Me Than You" by Jessica Andrews is a good one, and she recorded two versions--one is really up-tempo and fun and the other is a slow ballad-type. There's also "I'm Movin' On" by Rascal Flatts. Very good one. That's all I can think of off the top of my head. I hope they help and I'll keep trying to think of more.
  2. I have loved BHG since I was like 15, my best friends in high school and I damn near wore out my One Fierce Beer Coaster cd. I just love that feeling of "Oh my GOD! They did NOT just say that!" (the "I think that's hilarious" way, not the "I'm so offended" way)
  3. That would be The Angry American (Courtesy Of The Red, White, and Blue) American girls and American guys Will always stand up and salute Will always recognize When they see Old Glory flyin' There's a lot of men dead So we can sleep in peace at night when we lay down our heads My daddy served in the army where he lost his right eye But he flew a flag out in our yard 'til the day that he died He wanted my mother, my brother, my sister and me To grow up and live happy in the land of the free Now this nation that I love has fallen under attack A mighty sucker-punch came flying in from somewhere in the back Soon as we could see clearly through our big black eye Man, we lit up your world like the Fourth of July (chorus:) Hey, Uncle Sam put your name at the top of his list And the Statue of Liberty started shaking her fist And the eagle will fly, and it's gonna be hell When you hear Mother Freedom start ringing her bell And it'll feel like the whole wide world is raining down on you Aww, Brought to you courtesy Of the red white and blue Ooh, justice will be served and the battle will rage This big dog will fight when rattle his cage And you'll be sorry that you messed with the US of A 'Cause we'll put a boot in your @$$, it's the American way (repeat chorus)
  4. I don't know what the song you're asking about is, but now I have one stuck in my head that's bugged me since high school... it's a hip-hoppish song, it was in a trailer for some movie with Omar Epps I think, and the chorus went "Back in the day, when I was young, I'm not a kid anymore, but somedays I sit and wish I was a kid again." That gets stuck in my head on a continuous loop just about every time anyone says "Back in the day" Anyone know the name of it? Or the artist?
  5. YAY!!! You're my hero! Thanks so much earth-angel!!
  6. I'm drawing a complete blank on this song. I'm pretty sure it's either Rush or Queen, but I could be completely wrong. All I can remember is towards the end it goes "Who wants.... to live.... forever?" Please help!! It's driving me crazy!!
  7. Weird Al - Since You've Been Gone
  8. Frank Sinatra - My Way Limp Bizkit - My Way
  9. Jenny/867-5309 - Tommy Tutone :happybanana: :happybanana: :happybanana:
  10. I've only listened to 1985, and I love that song. It's one of those songs that anytime I hear it, and I do mean ANYTIME, even in the shower, I just have to dance to it. It's so happy and fun Other than that, I don't know enough to have an opinion.
  11. It was the first one that popped in my head, probably because I had it stuck in there last night. I'm glad you like it ::
  12. You Wanted More - Tonic Love Is Tragic Love Is Bold You Will ALways Do What You Are Told Love Is Hard Love Is Strong You Will Never Say That You Were Wrong I Don't Know When I Got Bitter But Love Is Surely Better When It's Gone (Chorus:) 'Cause You Wanted More More than I could give More than I could handle In a life that I can't live You wanted more More than I could bear More than I could offer For a love that isn't there Love is color Love is loud Love is never saying you're too proud Love is trusting Love is honest Love is not a hand to hold you down I don't know when I got bitter But love is surely better when it's gone (repeat chorus) I got to pick me up when I am down I got to get my feet back on the ground I got to pick me up when I am down (repeat chorus) Hope that helps
  13. And that would be why you're my hero Sammy
  14. These have all probably been mentioned already, but here's my list: Tori Amos Ani DiFranco Indigo Girls Melissa Etheridge Aimee Mann Cher (yes, Cher. I love her, I always have. Back off.) Joan Jett Liz Phair (a, because we have the same name and b, the song HWC... it's filthy and I love it.) Poe (I've loved her since I was in like 7th grade) and the ultimate, of course: Madonna.
  15. I'm having a brain-fart on the title of this Billy Joel song and I figure it'll probably be faster and easier to just ask here, considering I'm addicted to these boards and I can't leave. Okay, I know it's Billy Joel, and it's a relatively obscure song, but the only words I can remember are "...it's either sadness or euphoria" which I believe is the last line of the chorus because I remember it several different ways.
  16. "It's 5 O'Clock Somewhere" - Alan Jackson & Jimmy Buffett
  17. Sister - The Nixons (although that might be better if you were the one getting married, I don't know) Um... beyond that... what kind of song are you looking for? Like what style of music, what do you want it to say to him?
  18. Annabelle's right, it is "Bookends Theme" (I just so happened to have the movie in my DVD player as I was reading the boards) "Bookends" plays at the beginning, which is basically the same music but has lyrics. Time it was and what a time it was it was, A time of innocence a time of confidences. Long ago it must be, I have a photograph Preserve your memories, they're all that's left you Hope that helps, and welcome ::
  19. Billy Joel & Elton John (thrice, '95, '01, and '02) Bruce Springsteen (one of my top 3 favorite shows) Cheap Trick opening for... AEROSMITH (the best all-around performance I've seen) Eric Clapton (GOD. He's GOD. Not "a" god. The God.) Linkin Park/Hoobastank/I forget who else (the Meteora tour) Barenaked Ladies Madonna (who didn't do an encore, which was kinda disappointing. I'd never been to a show where there was no encore.) John Mayer (thrice) Dave Matthews Band And then there's the embarassing ones... *NSYNC (twice), Britney (also twice), Backstreet Boys, and Ricky Martin. My uncle's the president of Philip's Arena so I can usually get tickets to just about anything and sometimes my friends decide we should go to shows like that because it's free and usually pretty funny.
  20. Yay!! I'm glad I'm not the only one who likes it ::
  21. I'd be Tori Amos... God, to be able to play piano like that and to write those lyrics... she's so passionate I'm at a loss for words. (on a side note, completely ruining my mood, "Right Here Waiting" by Richard Marx just came up on my playlist. Ironically enough, that's the only song I can play on the piano, unless you count the Ducktales Theme )
