  2. Loreena McKeenitt has a song called the Highwayman on her CD Mystic dream(?). It was a poem by Longfellow, but it is beautiful and romantic and has to do with the Revolutionary War. (Is that "dang long ago" enough.) It relates the horrors of the British insistance of the Quartering Act on the new settlers in "the colonies" (soon to be the United States). If your teacher wants the song to have been written at the time about a situation, then how about Ohio by Neil Young.
  3. Could anyone tell me the artists, who wrote or performed and the lyrics for a morbid tune called D.O.A. The one I am trying to research came out in 196.?..7,8,9; I have no way of knowing exactly. The chorus included the background siren of a European ambulance. That is virtually all I can remember. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
