Doubleday to Publish Clapton Memoirs

Eric Clapton's memoirs, one of the most sought-after manuscripts in publishing history, will be released by Doubleday in 2007. Financial term were not disclosed, although Clapton was believed to seeking a multimillion-dollar contract and numerous publishers were interested. According to Doubleday, "Clapton will write frankly about every aspect of his personal and musical odyssey, addressing everthing that is known about his life as well as much that is not." The book, currently untitled, will be released to coincide with a North American tour and the release of a Clapton boxed set.
