  1. A few of mine are:

Her voice is like clear water

    That drips upon a stone

    In forests far and silent

    Where Quiet plays alone.

Her thoughts are like the lotus

    Abloom by sacred streams

    Beneath the temple arches

    Where Quiet sits and dreams.

    Her kisses are the roses

That glow while dusk is deep

    In Persian garden closes

    Where Quiet falls asleep.

    Sara Teasdale

    It's not easy being green.

    - Kermit the Frog

Poets utter great and wise things which they do not themselves understand

    - Plato

The kiss originated when the first male reptile licked the first female reptile, implying in a subtle, complimentary way that she was as succulent as the small reptile he'd had for dinner the night before.

    - F. Scott Fitzgerald

The sin was mine; I did not understand.

So now is music prisoned in her cave,

Save where some ebbing desultory wave

Frets with its restless whirls this meagre strand.

And in the withered hollow of this land

Hath Summer dug herself so deep a grave,

That hardly can the leaden willow crave

One silver blossom from keen Winter's hand.

But who is this who cometh by the shore?

(Nay, love, look up and wonder!) Who is this

Who cometh in dyed garments from the South?

It is thy new-found Lord, and he shall kiss

The yet unravished roses of thy mouth,

And I shall weep and worship, as before.

    Oscar Wilde

    The universe would be incomplete without man;

but it would also be incomplete without the smallest transmicroscopic creature

that dwells beyond our conceitful eyes and knowledge.

    John Muir

  2. Sunfire Pleasure have a style that is very difficult to label. I was shocked and amazed :: the first time I heard them a couple years ago. The were great then and now they are awesome! This is a band that is going places. They are based in San Francisco, California.

I copied the following info from their website. Sunfire Pleasure

One of San Francisco's most exciting and unique independent bands, Sunfire Pleasure wows fans, critics and fellow musicians with its electrifying stage presence, thrilling mix of solid original songs, and awe-inspiring improvisations that fuse rock, funk and jazz. They are a thrilling mix of rock, funk and jazz.

Guitarist Noah Reid, flautist Jason "Hawk" West and singer-songwriter Emily Pitcher planted the seeds of Sunfire Pleasure in Chicago before relocating to San Francisco, where they recruited bassist Mark Schuh [who has recorded with hard-hitters Eric McFadden of P-Funk and Eric Levy and Alan Hertz of Garaj Mahal, both of whom appear on Schuh's debut solo album] and drummer Adam Perry [formerly of Rotary Dial Records' instrumental indie-jazz wizards Whitford].

In just six months, Sunfire Pleasure's accolades have grown to include a two-day spot at this year's High Sierra Music Festival; an honorable mention in the Relix Jamoff competition, which awarded 15 artists out of more than 200 nationwide entries; and numerous West Coast performances at such popular and well-respected venues as San Francisco's Red Devil Lounge, The Independent and Boom Boom Room, Portland's Mt. Tabor Theatre and GoodFoot Lounge, and Los Angeles's 14 Below, where they opened for Hellride, the side-project of former Jane's Addiction drummer Stephen Perkins and punk legend Mike Watt. In addition, California radio shows such as David Gans' renowned "Dead to the World" on KPFA Berkeley, Barry Smolin's nationally-acclaimed "The Music Never Stops" on KPFK Los Angeles and Mike Powers' popular "Sunday Night Jam" on KFOG San Francisco have featured Sunfire Pleasure tracks, and DJ Chihiro featured the band in an on-air interview on alternative underground station San Francisco Liberation Radio.

    SUNFIRE PLEASURE is:

    Emily Pitcher - guitar, vocals

Noah Reid - lead guitar, vocals

    Hawk West - flute

Mark Schuh - bass, keys, vocals

    Adam Perry - drums, percussion
