It's a song about ratios.....
-
Should I be sad that I have no idea what you all are talking about?
-
Had to give it to the UK. There are more UK bands I could not live without than US bands.

Elvis Costello- Radio Radio
I was tuning in the shine on the light night dial
doing anything my radio advised
with every one of those late night stations
playing songs bringing tears to me eyes
I was seriously thinking about hiding the receiver
when the switch broke 'cause it's old
They're saying things that I can hardly believe.
They really think we're getting out of control.
Radio is a sound salvation
Radio is cleaning up the nation
They say you better listen to the voice of reason
But they don't give you any choice
'cause they think that it's treason.
So you had better do as you are told.
You better listen to the radio.
I wanna bite the hand that feeds me.
I wanna bite that hand so badly.
I want to make them wish they'd never seen me.
Some of my friends sit around every evening
and they worry about the times ahead
But everybody else is overwhelmed by indifference
and the promise of an early bed
You either shut up or get cut out;
they don't wanna hear about it.
It's only inches on the reel-to-reel.
And the radio is in the hands of such a lot of fools
tryin' to anaesthetise the way that you feel
[Chorus]
Wonderful radio
Marvelous radio
Wonderful radio
Radio, radio...
I also like Janes Addiction's version of Rock and Roll

His hair literaly looked like that cartoon!!! Even the news was laughing at him...
-
Oh. Ok. It's "Start Me Up"
-
Right!! Stop it!
Kevin, the song is a Stones cover of Sinatra's "Strangers in the Night"....Doobe doobe dooooo.
-
Anyone see Phil Spector on the news today in his murder trial. He is getting even stranger, and quite possibly losing his mind. His hair is looking fabulous though. He is looking a lot like one of the Hair Bear Bunch.
-
Dont make come back there you two!
-
Thats the dogs only tooth She's 14
-
She does not look too bad when she is not strung out. She looks like she's up for anything....I like that in a girl

The perfect country song, as sung by David Allan Coe:
You Never Even Call Me By My Name
WELL, IT WAS ALL
THAT I COULD DO TO KEEP FROM CRYING'
SOMETIMES IT SEEMED SO USELESS TO REMAIN
BUT YOU DON'T HAVE TO CALL ME DARLIN', DARLIN'
YOU NEVER EVEN CALL ME BY MY NAME
YOU DON'T HAVE TO CALL ME WAYLON JENNINGS
AND YOU DON'T HAVE TO CALL ME CHARLIE PRIDE
AND YOU DON'T HAVE TO CALL ME MERLE HAGGARD/ANYMORE
EVEN THOUGH YOU'RE ON MY FIGHTING' SIDE
CHORUS:
AND I'LL HANG AROUND AS LONG AS YOU WILL LET ME
AND I NEVER MINDED STANDING' IN THE RAIN
BUT YOU DON'T HAVE TO CALL ME DARLIN', DARLIN'
YOU NEVER EVEN CALLED ME BY MY NAME
WELL, I'VE HEARD MY NAME
A FEW TIMES IN YOUR PHONE BOOK (Hello, Hello)
AND I'VE SEEN IT ON SIGNS WHERE I'VE PLAYED
BUT THE ONLY TIME I KNOW
I'LL HEAR "DAVID ALLAN COE"
IS WHEN JESUS HAS HIS FINAL JUDGMENT DAY
REPEAT CHORUS
RECITATION:
WELL, A FRIEND OF MINE NAMED STEVE GOODMAN WROTE THAT SONG
AND HE TOLD ME IT WAS THE PERFECT COUNTRY & WESTERN SONG
I WROTE HIM BACK A LETTER AND I TOLD HIM IT WAS NOT THE PERFECT COUNTRY & WESTERN SONG BECAUSE HE HADN'T SAID ANYTHING AT ALL ABOUT MAMA,
OR TRAINS,
OR TRUCKS,
OR PRISON,
OR GETTING' DRUNK
WELL HE SAT DOWN AND WROTE ANOTHER VERSE TO THE SONG
AND HE SENT IT TO ME,
AND AFTER READING IT,
I REALIZED THAT MY FRIEND HAD WRITTEN THE PERFECT
COUNTRY & WESTERN SONG
AND I FELT OBLIGED TO INCLUDE IT ON THIS ALBUM
THE LAST VERSE GOES LIKE THIS HERE:
WELL, I WAS DRUNK THE DAY MY MOM GOT OUT OF PRISON
AND I WENT TO PICK HER UP IN THE RAIN
BUT BEFORE I COULD GET TO THE STATION IN MY PICKUP TRUCK
SHE GOT RUN NED OVER BY A DAMNED OLD TRAIN
CHORUS:
AND I'LL HANG AROUND AS LONG AS YOU WILL LET ME
AND I NEVER MINDED STANDING' IN THE RAIN
NO, A' YOU DON'T HAVE TO CALL ME DARLIN', DARLIN'
YOU NEVER EVEN CALL ME
WELL I WONDER WHY YOU DON'T CALL ME
WHY DON'T YOU EVER CALL ME BY MY NAME
-
Notice the family resemblance? The picture of me is from around 1971. Evidently, my mom used to dress me up like Micky Mouse. The "bowl cuts" would continue through grade school...
-
Ah, yes, that deep song that ponders the question: If inanimate keys of different colors can co-exist on a piano, why can't we as complex humans of different colors do the same? ahhhh.....
No one has ever accused Paul Mc Cartney of being deep.....
-
Congratulations Elvishocky!!! What a handsome little guy! How many hours is he letting you sleep these days?
-
First song to pop to mind was "Spanish Caravan" by The Doors. A very nice acustic guitar a Flamenco feel.
-
I would love to participate in this thread, but I dont want to gross you all out. After 3 years working in an ambulance in South Central LA and 15 years as a cop, I got some good ones.
-
Woof!
-
Well excuuuuuuuuuuuuse ME!!!
-
Yeah, Kevin.
I could not find a notable, cool Serb, so it was either Rasputine or Vlad Tepes. It was a close call, but Ol' Raspy looked more friendly since he is waving and all.....
i'm loosing faith in humanity... crazy frog
