They were all names of movies

    Not quite, Sammy.

But since you were close, here's the answer:

All 3 artists had movies that were based on their songs.

    The Beatles - Yellow Submarine

    Arlo Guthrie - Alice's Restaurant

and for a bonus question, can anyone tell me which movie was adapted from Bruce's song "Highway Patrol"?

    It's not Highway Patrol.

Here's a hint: It was released in 1991 and it was Sean Penn's debut as a writer-director.

  2. Wow, this a hard one... could it be there´s vehicles mentionned in the albums?

    Yellow SUBMARINE (Beatles)

    MOTORCYCLE song (Arlo Guthrie)

    Used CARS (Boss)

Not quite, Edna. But you're getting warmer. You were just looking at the wrong songs.

    Here's another clue:

The songs that make these three artists a common link are:

    The Beatles: Yellow Submarine

    Arlo Guthrie: Alice's Restaurant Massacre

    Bruce Springsteen: Highway Patrol

And don't guess that they all have something to do with police officers, cuz that's not the answer I'm looking for.

It's not the lyrics in the song that make the artists a common link, but the songs themselves. ;)

  3. Thanks for the photo of Keith, Edna.

    You're a doll! :)

Yes, April Wine is from Montreal, Canada. They were at their peak in the late 70's and the early 80's. In my opinion, their best release has got to be "Nature Of The Beast" - 1981.

I dug up some 30 second sound clips for you, so you can become acquainted with April Wine.

From their album "Nature Of The Beast" - 1981:

Just Between You And Me :headphones: This ballad was their highest charting hit on the US Billboard charts. It reached #21.

Sign Of The Gypsy Queen :headphones:

    Big City Girls :headphones:

    From their album "Harder...Faster" - 1980

    I like To Rock :headphones:

From their album "First Glance" - 1978

    Roller :headphones: Great Song!

From their album "Power Play" - 1982

Enough Is Enough :headphones: My favorite April Wine song!

Don't forget to leave another Give! :)

  4. Sorry, Edna.

I was laughing so hard at your comment, I forgot to post.

Anyone who is a Rolling Stones fan should know Keith Richards  and the X-Pensive Winos.

Keith's solo career with the winos was short lived with only 2 studio album releases in 4 years. Good thing there's also a live album.

If you're not acquainted with his solo work, get out there and pick up "Talk Is Cheap".

Keith Richards' fans, enjoy the visuals:

    Give: April Wine

  5. Ok. Here's a hint:

It is a song by each that makes these 3 artists a common link.

    >A song from the Beatles' album, Yellow Submarine

    >A song from Arlo's album, Alice's Restaurant

    >A song from Bruce's album, Nebraska

  6. Jr,

Here's a list of movies that Don Ameche was in.

Hey, the new kid's pretty f***in' good at this. And I like his taste in music.

Thanks for the compliment. I like your taste in Pro football team, even though they let us all down this year.

FYI - There's a band called Mr. Crow's Garden playing at the Staircase on Monday, March 14 (tickets go on sale today - estimate about 30 bucks each). The band is actually the Robinson Brothers and the remnants of the BLACK CROWES. I opine that they will ROCK THE F***IN' HOUSE in that little joint, man!

Thanks for the info. My life's in a bit of a mess right now, so I plan it day by day. But if everything's fine when that day comes, I'll try to make it. Sounds like a good show.

  8. ok Brad this one is driving me crazy :: I hope someone gets it soon....im just gonna take a wild guess, ummm they all played at the same place?....maybe new york city?

Give everyone time to check in, Laurie. The post has only been up for 12 hours. If it's not guessed by tomorrow, I'll post a hint.

  9. Foxy,

I was only laughing because you made it sound like Kazaa didn't come with any spyware. They are well known for it.

If you clean it out every month, that's great. I run scans once a week.

I use X-cleaner, Lavasoft ad-aware, and Spybot Search and Destroy. Between the 3 of them, they get rid of everything I've ever had get through to my computer.
