  1. Trampled,

    Who wouldn't recognize that face?

Someone just sang one of their songs at karaoke a few nights ago. He did a real good job at it, too.

I think he thought he was him. LOL

I'm gonna pass and give someone else a chance since I just got one. Plus, I'm a DJ, so I know a lot of the bands and I don't want to be a post hog.

  2. Oh, we're gonna have a laugh with this one.

Don't whip me or beat me for posting it, Edna. :stars:

    Karhul's word was "Edna".

I connect it with this song that used to play on the Dr. Demento show but was never released on any Dr. Demento albums.

    May I present the song:

"Edna" by a group called "Strapped".

You didn't think I was going to stop without posting the lyrics now, did you?

    Artist: Strapped

    Song: Edna

    EDNA

get me, choke me, ring my neck now

flog me, lash me what the heck now

make me dress in business stockings

high heel sneakers - now you're talkin

tie me down and stomp my head now

whip me beat me call me edna

tie me down and stomp my head now

whip me beat me call me edna

    edna

gouge my eyes out twist my nose off

make me take my geeky clothes off

burn my hair I like that action

make me look like Michael Jackson

tie me down and stomp my head now

whip me beat me call me edna

tie me down and stomp my head now

whip me beat me call me edna

tie me down and stomp my head now

whip me beat me call me edna

    edna

    eddddd naaaaaaaaaaaa

    call me edna

    edddd naaaaaaaaaaaa

walk on me with spiked heel shoes on

a bed of nail is what I snooze on

twist my arm and break my fingers

    you're memory will always linger

tie me down and stomp my head now

whip me beat me call me edna

    Someone go with a connection:

  3. Bazooka entered: "Bo Diddley Is A Lumberjack" photo:

    Ok, Bazooka,

I have to give you that one.

Bo Diddley may not be a cool gunslinger, but he does make one hell of a mean lumberjack!

Look out Freddy and Jason! Bo Diddley's comin' for ya!

  4. Edna,

You posted "Rock And Roll Heart".

Windy answered with Ian Gomm and Pete answered with Lou Reed. Both correct answers since both artists have a title with that name but Windy's did make it to the finish line first.

Windy did post a new one, she said Tomcattin'.

In answer to your question about Pete's Post, neither the pretenders or The Kinks had an album called "Stop Your Sobbing".

The song was originally released on the Kinks first album "The Kinks" and later covered by The Pretenders on their first album, "The Pretenders".

I searched the internet and couldn't find any groups with an album with that name. Guess Pete may have to give us a clue.

  5. Traffic's album was called "John Barleycorn Must Die", not just John Barleycorn, but you must be right HD, I've never heard the name anywhere else, except for a bar.

Pete must have forgot to include the whole title.

And you haven't been around long enough to know that Bo Diddley was the unquestioned ultimate victor in Picture Wars, Part I (They had to keep throwing atomic bombs and sporks at him).

Come on, Bazooka. Take another look at that photo. A gunslinger, he is not.

If he won the Picture Wars, Part 1, everyone must have been posting pictures of his albums, cuz the only thing I think he could kill off would be record sales.

  7. Way To Go, Laurie!

    They all hail from PA

Home of yours truly and MiamiSammy.

I'm surprised he didn't get that one. But he was prolly out all night and they don't have internet access at The Staircase.

  8. ummm they all have songs about flesh, blood, cannibalism?

    timothy

    blood from a stone

letter from death row?.....did i get one right?

    Not the answer, Laurie.

Although Timothy is about cannibalism, and Letter From Death Row mentions Hannibal Lector, Flesh and Blood does not. And vice versa about the blood and flesh.

The answer Is not about songs from these groups, it is a common link about the group themselves.

  9.

Oh, I just sleep five hours or so...! But I´m a housewife...!  :shades:

I'm single, and my daughter's never here, so I get to stay on as long as I want. I even have my food delivered so I don't have to leave this wonderful site. I'm still wide awake and I've been up for about... :sleepy: :sleepy: :sleepy:

  10. Come on, Edna!

That guy is no match for Clint Eastwood. He looks like he just got out of high school and prolly never fired a gun in life. I bet his Mommy dressed him up in his cowboy outfit that morning.

    And come on, Bazooka.

Bo Diddley as a gunslinger is as gay as they come. Just look at that photo. I don't think he could even take Richard Simmons in a gunfight. He'd prolly beat them all in a square dancing contest though, wouldn't he?.

Come on, folks. Can someone post a pic of someone who would really whoop Clint's *ss?

  11. Good morning, everybody! :shades: Pls, why don´t you post the questions for which I DO have the answer at a time I´m awake??

I´ll have to move to Australia or California... :happybanana: :happybanana:

Or just don't sleep so much Edna and stay on the computer until you doze off and hit your head on the keyboard like I do.

  12. Edna,

Thanks for the tip. I was making my reply and when I posted it, I read yours about clicking on the "image" link. All along, I've been typing the brackets and the word image in the box. I didn't know about the link that automatically enters that for you.

I edited my post where i was explaining about typing it in the box and made it "click on the link" like you said.

That is so much easier. :)

    You rock!

  13. That's ok, Old55. I was outside having a smoke anyways.

    Here's my Common Link question:

What do these 3 bands have in common:

    Cinderella

    Poison

    The Buoys

Since the first 2 bands were extremely popular and you will recognize them, I'll give you some info on the 3rd group for anyone that hasn't heard of them.

The Buoys were the group that recorded the Top 20 US hit "Timothy" in 1971. (#17 on the US Billboard chart)

There is an interesting SongFacts page about the song.

    Read it here:

    Timothy
