  2. " No one belongs here more that you" by Miranda July. A collection of short stories, some of which was very moving, some not as much. If you enjoyed her film "me you and everyone we know", you will probably enjoy this too.

"The day of the triffids" by John Wyndham. Surprisingly good! Many "disaster"-type movies have heavily borroughed from this book, the premise and opening scene o0f which reminded me of "28 days later". I didn't even mind the seemingly stupid concept of the triffids. Definitely reccommended!

  3. I think you will find that people have been self- harming for a very long time now, just didn't advertise it as much as emo kids seem to do, it used to be a private coping mechanism, not a trend. One of SYlvia Plath's poems (I think it's called ten red indians or something) indicates that she self- harmed.

And I am assuming you are joking Batman!

  4. I find those Barbie teen pop wonders much more irritating :/

and I didn't know Lily Allen and Joss Stone are so controversial... what's up with that?

Joss Stone was fine until she went to America to record her second album. She came back for the brits last year (I think) wearing a ridiculous dress, with a stupid mid-atlantic accent and was generally quite irritating. She had totally lost all her boho charm!

James Blunt should be no 1 though!

  5. Hahaha. That was awersome. I love that movie.

Last night, I watched Vertigo. HOLY CRIZNAP! I couldn't believe the movie was from 1957 because of the different camera and photography techniques Hitchcock chose to use. It most definitely is the best Alfred Hitchcock movie I have seen up to this point. I've still yet to see a a bunch of his movies, but it's definitely a hard act to follow - even by modern movie-making standards.

"Vertigo" is definitely one of the best but I think my favourite Hitchcock film is "North by Northwest"! I recently watched a special showing of "the lady vanishes" and it was very interesting as it is very different to all the later HItchcock I've seen.
