  1. Okay, I really like this song. It is fairly recent (I think) but I have no idea as to who sings it or what it's called. These are the lines that I can remember:

"He can remember bop-she-bop-she-bop/she can remember ramma lamma ding dong/he could have been in a love she lost a lot/all we can do is rattle up a sing song."

Now that's probably not totally correct, and I do realise that it borrows lines from a 50's or 60's song. But it is a recent song! Please help me!! :help:

  2. I am going to see The Eagles when they tour Australia in November. Yes, I braved the exorbitant ticket prices and got a gold ticket. The diamond tickets were $560 and I'm sorry, but unless I'm on stage with the band, that is too much to pay to see anything.

So anyways, the Sydney SuperDome, section S8, row KK, seat 172, here I come!!

(the Eagles have actually added five more dates because of the demand for tickets!!!)

  3. I thought Coldplay turned into a bunch of wankers when they made it big in America. Their album 'Parachutes' was really good though, better than 'A Rush Of Blood To The Head'.

Their song 'Yellow' was used in Australia to promote Daffodil Day (daffodils are yellow flowers), a cancer awareness initiative.

  4. This is an excellent idea!!

When I finished high school we made a song composed of bits of other songs that we felt fitted the mood or summed us up or were just classics we loved. We used parts of the following:

    Tribute - Tenacious D

With A Little Help From My Friends - The Beatles

Stand By Me - John Lennon

I've Had The Time Of My Life - Jennifer Warnes & Bill Medley

Summer Of 69 - Bryan Adams

    Damnit - Blink 182

Eye Of The Tiger - Survivor

You're My Best Friend - Queen

Livin' On A Prayer - Bon Jovi

    School's Out - Alice Cooper

We Are The Champions - Queen

    Don't Speak - No Doubt

Wouldn't It be Nice - The Beach Boys

    Happy Days Theme

He Ain't Heavy (He's My Brother) - The Hollies

Ain't No Mountain High Enough - Tina Turner

We Go Together - John Travolta, Olivia Newton-John, cast of GREASE.

These all ran together as one big 12 minute song. Ahh, the memories!!! Hope this helps!!!!!

  5. This is an epitaph from an old grave in the town next to mine. I thought it was very clever.

    "Patrick Tully is my name

    Ireland was my nation,

    Bialla is my resting place

May heaven be my eternal habitation.

Beware you man, as you walk by,

As you are now so once was I.

As I am now, soon you will be

    Prepare yourself to follow me"

  6. When I hear 'The Immigrant Song' by Led Zeppelin, I think of Jack Black singing along all demonic (from the School Of Rock).

Also, when I hear 'It's Raining Men' (any version) I think of the gorgeous fighting scene in Bridget Jones' Diary between Hugh Grant and Colin Firth. mmmmmm.

  7. That's exactly right Scott, the Beatles were no 'good boys', it was all just a press beat-up.

    I quote:

"From the outside, it seemed like the Beatles were the fresh-faced fab mop tops and we (The Rolling Stones) were totally the other end of the spectrum. But they were just as filthy as we were." - Keith Richards

  8. well, I'm going to leave the communist/Beatles topic well alone and suggest the musical personalities that really p*** me off.

Lars Ulrich is a little upstart, but Metallica is one of my favourite bands. I also can't stand Chris Martin but I really like Coldplay. And don't get me started on Axl Rose!! The Gunners are awesome though.

I also feel a growing animosity toward the members of The Eagles (and management) for charging $559.90 a ticket on their Australian tour!!!! Not cool.

  9. Does anyone else think that ticket prices for concerts are getting a little high??

The Eagles are coming to Australia, and for the first lot of seats the tickets are $559.90, the next level being $227.90............whoa. Now, I've been to concerts before at the venue they are playing, and let me tell you, getting anything less than the top seats is a waste of time. I can't believe that price!!

So, any other stories of exorbitant ticket prices??

  10. Here's a few:

    Always - Bon Jovi

Run To You - Bryan Adams

Two Out Of Three Ain't Bad - Meatloaf

    Love Bites - Def Leppard

Layla - Derek & The Dominoes

Love Is Only A Feeling - The Darkness

Romeo & Juliet - Dire Straits

    Desperado - The Eagles

Best Of My Love - The Eagles

Go Your Own Way - Fleetwood Mac
