It doesn't matter who sings on it though does it? Really? It's for charity so it's all good.

I saw the Eagles live in November while they were touring Australia. They were excellent I loved every minute of it! Don Henley's voice is so pure and clear, especially when he sang 'Desperado'. Don even said two of his solo hits, 'Boys Of Summer' and 'All She Wants To Do Is Dance'.
My fave Eagles songs are 'Doolin' Dalton', 'Best Of My Love', 'Certain Kind Of Fool', 'New Kid In Town' and 'Hotel California' :happybanana:

Hey Old 55, glad to hear that Normie is passable! I really liked his version of 'Que Serra'. I also like 'It Ain't Necessarily So'. It was sad about the Vietnam service thing. I went to his fansite the other day and sent him an email just to say how much I liked his music.....and he emailed me back!!! I wish I got to see him though, lucky you!!
-
I was wondering if there are any Normie Rowe fans on songfacts?
What about you Old 55? Help me out here!!

I was wondering what the married people on songfacts chose musically for their wedding, be it for the bride and groom's dance or general musical entertainment.

A BITTER battle over Johnny Ramone's estate has pit Stella Cummings, the 79-year-old mother of the legendary guitarist, against his wife, Linda Cummings.
Stella Cummings claims that Johnny, who died in September of prostate cancer, had promised her $2,500 a month, but she suspects Linda somehow convinced the punk rock pioneer to leave her out of his will.
"I think she got him to change the will when he was sick, but I don't have any proof,it's been one big nightmare for me. Two weeks before my son passed away, he said, 'Linda will send you a check every week.' I haven't received a penny from her. And she's used foul language to me. It's disgusting. She said, 'You'll never get a penny of this money.' It's not her money, it's my son's money. She can't give me something to survive on?"
Stella, who works as a cashier at a supermarket in Florida, is especially upset because Linda did not invite her to Johnny's cremation service.
"That's my son!" Stella wailed. "And I was close to my son. I was never told about it . . . Johnny was stupid to trust her to do what's right. She's like a vulture."
But when we reached Linda at her Los Angeles home, she offered no apologies. "Everyone always leaves everything to their wife," Linda said. "Her son made every decision, and everyone who knew Johnny Ramone knows that. No one ever told him anything. She wasn't left anything in the will. That was her son's choice, not mine.
"She has every bit of information from my estate lawyer to her estate lawyer," Linda continued. "If she can't accept his decision, that's her problem. It's very sad that she called a newspaper about this. Johnny was such a private person and I know he's looking down at her and saying, 'This is disgraceful.'
"It is really despicable and disgusting to do this to him. It's my money and Johnny's money. Johnny Ramone would be livid if he knew his mother was doing this. We are private people. She should get on with her own life and stop being a Ramones groupie."
This isn't the first time that Linda has been a source of contention between Johnny and someone close to him. Johnny became irrevocably estranged from fellow band member Joey Ramone when Linda, who was then Joey's girlfriend, left him for Johnny, whom she married in 1994.
Johnny and Joey went on playing together for years, but still weren't speaking to each other when Joey died of cancer in 2001.

I think you should spare a thought for those of us who weren't around in 1977 or were too young to attend a KISS concert pre 1990's. It isn't my fault that I had the misfortune of being born in 1984. I saw KISS in May last year, and they rocked. It never felt wrong, only right!

"Can't Buy Me Love" was recorded in France at an EMI facility during sessions for "Komm, Gib Mir Diene Hand" and "Sie Liebt Dich", their only recording session for EMI outside of Britain. An EMI studio record for the March 10 session states that a "drummer" took part in the mixing session, making it very likely that a session drummer performed overdubs for the stereo version of "Can't Buy Me Love". It has long been noted that the drums for each song are different, and due to the shooting schedule for 'A Hard Day's Night' (which was being shot on this day) would have made it hard for Ringo to have been in the studio.
Chart performance
#1, April 2 - April 22 (3 weeks), Record Retailer (UK)
#1, April 4 - May 8 (5 weeks), Billboard (US)

I never really realised how much of a contribution George made to the Beatles until recently. I wish that he and Ringo would get more credit....the Beatles were a group of four people, not two.

Punk, then post-punk were the beginnings of grunge. If you want to really define grunge, you need to look at the bands and influences that have come before it.
The Ramones are the single biggest influence on grunge music. Without it, bands such as Greenday, Pearl Jam and the Offspring would not exist. Kurt Cobain of Nirvana even expressed his wish to be as good as the Ramones someday. You can hear the Ramones stamped all over the records of bands such as Metallica, Nirvana and Rancid.
