  1. I like it because it really gives you something to think about. The theme really isn't corruption or greed or human rights. It is an enigma wrapped in a n enigma. THe theme is behind what made Marlow search so ferverently for Kurtz when he didn't even know him.

And no, I do not havve ADD or ADHD. I am able to focus on one thing for more than six minutes. :)

  2. Lordly rays of Gold,

    Shining, meady rays of Amber,

    Forceful shades of Copper hue,

    This Light, the lackless colour of brite White;

    extreme.

    These, this splendor,

Has always shone down upon me,

    Drenching my fleshy flesh,

    Covered with stains of dark.

    The voids that cover me

    Are consuming, still consuming,

    Body and Soul,

    No colour do they hold.

And I am blinded, ever blinded

As I walk on the foresaken, but easily trodden

    path,

Not by the rays that cut and sting my blasphemous

    eyes with their brilliant colour,

But ever - ever by my wounds, self-inflicted.

I hope to one day; follow those colours home.

  3. Well look at Jack and Jill:

Jack and Jill went up the hill

-This refers to when Louis XVI went to Canterbury hill to be crowned a king, Jill being his priest (priests were jokingly call women because of their dress)

To fetch a pail of water

-This is actually to fetch the pael (hat of the bishop- to get his o.k. to become king) of Walter (the bishop at the time)

Jack fell down and broke his crown

    And Jill came tumbling after

-Well Louis was not sucessful, the bishop would not make him king, and his priest went down with him.

-Be mindful that this happened during the crusades (or some other war) when the rightful king was not present.

  4. I got hooked on Flogging Molly, although they do their(ei or ie...hmm)screaming. But most of their lyrics are actually about something, like revolutions and actual historical events. I have to admit, some of it is too deep for me.

  5. I think it is more of a morale question than one of sexism although sexism does fall under that category.Any person man or woman who would subject themselves to listen to such a song and be affected enough by it to act as the narrator is a sexist. Most of the lyrics are about taking advantage of women, most of whom are demoralized anyway, but that does not make fornication alright, does it. But if you take a look at all of these newer rap songs, these kids are listening to an adult who says it is o.k. to think that every woman you meet in da' club or at a bar is a hooker and are meant for free sex plus the price of drinks.

  6. Technically, poetry is meant to be interpreted into each person's individual life. But I did enjoy the poem. Nice free verse. I like the use of the poetic spelling because it creates sounds that are separate from regular conversation and create a smoother flowing feel of the poem. An awesome writer that does this sort of thing also is James Joyce, I don't know if he wrote any poetry though. Robert Burns is another good one. But, I get it, the dark stuff. Nice.

  7. Fine. Randomness is my forte. I like Joseph Conrad better than Joyce, his writing style flows better. And more short stories makes it easier

to read him. Although Joyce does have that sound metaphor thing down. But I would pick up a good Logfellow any day over either of them. Hmm...my nails are shorter than I thought they were.

  8. Okay, I have a serious question. I have a sisiter who likes that screamo stuff. Is that actually considered music? She said she was listening to I Set My Freinds on FIre by Aiden and it sounded like "criss cross apple sauce(breath) I can't tie my shoes!!!!!!!(<---screaming).
