That's a nice way of putting it.
To be honest, this doen't come as a surprise. The White Stripes have been out of the spotlight since they stopped touring because of Meg's fear of flying. Jack remained in the spotlight with his various side projects and it was clear these project occupied ALL of his time.
I'm still sad they decided to just end it after a few years of silence. It would have been great if they made one last album, I'm sure they still have it in them to produce another gem.
Jack is a traveller, I fear that the Raconteurs and the Dead Weather will, eventually make place for other bands involving Mr. White.

Canadian radio listeners may hear Dire Straits' controversial "Money For Nothing" blasting across the airways once again if the nation's broadcast regulator overturns the recent decision to ban the English rockers' classic hit.
According to the CRTC, they have received more than 250 letters since the ban was announced on January 12, and today, in a letter sent to the Canadian Broadcast Standards Council today, urged the CBCS to reconsider blacklisting the 1985 Grammy-winning track.
"Given the exceptional nature of this situation, the Commission has asked the CBSC to appoint a panel with a national composition to review the complaints," wrote CRTC Secretary General Robert Morin, who asked that the age and origin of "Money For Nothing," as well as its intended message, be considered in the evaluation.

I've never seen such 'jump-to-wrong-conclusions' like I did yesterday. I don't mean here on SF, but on other websites and in the news.
Sure, every nation has his crazy persons, that's true. But no country has that many guns and citizens killed by guns as yours.
I'm sorry if I offended any of you, but through all the mixed information that came to Europe yesterday, that was the only thing I could say about it.

The problem you have with looping sounds can probably be fixed by some kind of sound editor like Soundforge, or perhaps even with Atmosphere itself?
If you're willing to spend money: http://www.soundsnap.com/ has high quality sound libraries.
Or you could just go searching in the real life library for greenpeace cd's or something
