I felt "Rainbow" the weakest on this list. Never think of that song when thinking of the Stones.
Yeah, I honestly can't imagine how rainbow made it on there above almost all of the songs that didn't make the list other than blind devotion to the Rolling Stones.. And let's be honest, if you're going to be blindly devoted to a band, it should be the Beatles or Zeppelin, not the Stones.
Boo! }
She's A Rainbow is one of very few songs that I loved from pretty much the first time I heard it. I consider it very strong musically. I don't really care much about lyrics, so they aren't much of an issue to me. I also assure you this has nothing to do with my Stones bias .

Fried eggs ate my cat.
No, I'm serious, they actually did.
Of course, I couldn't help but notice we are supposed to be making up song titles, but Detachable Penis is of course a real song.
-
Here's an interesting point: the number one and two songs are both sort of like standards - they have both been recorded many times. Also, the versions at number one and two were both recorded a few years after the original.
If you look at the Wikipedia page for Unchained Melody, you will see that there were once four versions of it in the British charts.
-
Indeed - TheTallOne helped it out at the end there, but unfortunately he really needed to give it 13 points for it to stand a chance.

Okay, I think I have left this for long enough now.

CCR formed in 1959, according to Rolling Stone Rock Encyclopedia. That makes Fogerty in action for 47 years now...
Good point, I had forgotten John Fogerty was still performing, which I probably shouldn't have since he performed here in Perth last year.

Are You Experienced is correct

I naturally went straight to wikipedia when I saw this topic.
List of songs with titles of twenty or more words
Or, alternatively:
-
Here's a person you probably didn't know had been in music for forty years:
He was the drummer/vocalist for a band called The Strangers in 1964. The band changed their name to Chain Reaction in 1966, and released their first single that year. He switched bands a few more times for the rest of the sixties, until he and two friends formed a band in 1970. They soon added a guitarist and a drummer to the lineup, and that band is currently touring, and will probably release their new album next year.
Who am I? Steven Tallarico, aka Steve Tyler from Aerosmith.
-
Kevin and rtstuff haven't voted yet. I think they are the only ones who haven't out of those who voted last week. I'll probably keep the voting open for about 24 more hours.

It had to be nominated eventually, but I expected it from edna.

David Coverdale was the lead singer of Deep Purple from 1973-1976...
Or alternatively, Denny Carmassi played drums on Coverdale/Page, and he was also the drummer for Montrose...
-
Tales Of Brave Ulysses - Cream
Radio Song - Jet

I'm unsure how to put a topic at the top of the list. Could a moderator please do this and delete this post?
Also, the Ultimate Top Ten Round 1 should probably be moved to the bottom section, and probably should be locked so no one can reply to it anymore.

THE SONGFACTORS' CHOICE ULTIMATE TOP TEN - ROUND 2
I'll quickly rehash the rules, they are the same as before:
- No nominations are required, as the songs have been selected from our 25 top tens.
- Voting rules will be exactly the same as the normal top tens - rank your favourite songs in the list from 1-10, and 10 points will be given to your number 1 song, 9 for number 2 etc.
- We have decided to restrict eligibility to vote to only those people who have nominated or voted in at least one of our Top Tens. We think that's fair !
- We realised it would be ridiculous to expect people to come up with a top ten from all 251 songs, so I have seeded the songs and split them into fair groups.
- This is Group 2 of 5, and this group contains 50 songs. I will then combine the five top tens together to form a group, and then we will vote on these songs to form the Ultimate Top Ten.
Group 2:
25 Or 6 To 4 - Chicago (1970)

My first number one!
I never expected to get number one this time, as I've nominated quite a few songs that I think are more popular than Dream On.
I think this must be our first renomination to hit #1 - not too surprising since we have had at least two renominations at #2.
-
You can definitely vote on any of the remaining Ultimate Top Ten rounds and the final. It's only strangers who haven't voted in any of the normal top tens who we don't allow to vote.
Round 2 is coming soon...
-
Other people seem to be posting two or more videos at a time now, so I will do the same
One of the best live videos I've ever seen. Not bad for a bunch of guys in their late fifties/sixties: "Comfortably Numb" - Pink Floyd (from Live 8)
Also, I had to put some Powderfinger here, even if they don't have any of their normal video clips (WARNING - COARSE LANGUAGE): "My Happiness" - Powderfinger
-
I decided it's probably best to stick to popular albums, but alter them a fair bit to make them hard to recognise. Make sure not to make them completely unrecognisable.
I have just been using Paint Shop Pro to alter the covers, then hosting them with imageshack.us.

Best wishes Darryl. Stay positive and everything will turn out alright.
