The rankings haven't started yet. I think they're in a completely random order right now.

9. Beat It - Michael Jackson (1982)
10. Beat It - Michael Jackson (1982)
Interesting...

This Songfactor, despite being a huge fan of a great English rock band, has shunned them in favour of Lady GaGa, Black Eyed Peas and Twisted Sister at his Fantasy Music Festival.

Kiwis at the World Cup
Boo!
Oh well, congrats to them. I can't see them making it past the group stage, but well done anyway.
EDIT: 2500 posts!

yes, I know
that's why I have a joker in my lineup... a band that cost only 5000, currently has 0 Buzz points - but that will defintely change in the next weeks
Them Crooked Vultures costs 5000? That's insane!
I'll still won't pick them, though. I'll just sit back and enjoy Radhi's and my non-sellout festivals.
-
I have 8 English bands and 7 Australian bands - whichever country I choose to host it, the airfares will cost a fair bit.
I see Martin has added more popular artists to his lineup - looks like Radhi and I will contest for last place (though I'll probably have to settle for second last).
Yes, this discussion will go on far too long to occupy this thread. Someone make a new thread - I sleep now. :sleepy:

^ Agreed.

I don't care that I have about half my money left - I won't be changing my lineup (unless I find a way to add Yes to my lineup - it won't let me because of the dodgy search system). Then again, I can't help but notice that Radhi only spent 11.3% of her money. Good thing shoegaze festivals are cheap.

Me too!

I prefer riffs to chords, so I would try the riff and chorus of Sunshine Of Your Love. It's pretty easy if you play it fairly slowly, and a good way to practise some easy bends and power chords.
-
What a historically significant day. I sure don't remember anything from that long ago, but it's certainly a very important anniversary.
-
-
I've always though that riffs are always repeated many times in the song, whereas licks are short guitar lines that aren't necessarily repeated. Not sure if I'm right, though.
-
I'm actually disappointed they didn't include Wind Up by Jethro Tull on the list. The boring and pretty odd sounding solo is clearly the worst part of an otherwise brilliant song.
I should point out that it is actually the "100 Worst Riffs, Licks & Solos Of All Time", which explains why they included some songs that don't actually have solos.
-
I'm pretty happy with the list, despite some excellent songs only just missing out.
-
^ Nice.
-
I dunno if I would call that 'obsessed' though
I would.
The answer to the above is Farin.
As for who's studying astronomy... I can't remember, can someone please remind me?

Isn't that Ahmet Ertegün, one of the co-founders of Atlantic records?
Correct.
-
Correct.
-
That took a while.
New answer (I'll make this one easier. Well, it wouldn't be easy if you didn't know my taste in music ):
This band released their debut album in 1968, and released one album per year every year from then until 1980.
-
Nope.
Hint 1: This guy is the reason why a very popular band recently reformed for a one-off concert...
