  2. I mentioned The Germs. I dont know about them being the first or most influencial, but they were good. I will stick with X being my favorite from that era. Too bad Darby killed himself.

I might be a little off on my dates for them being the first. But I consider them influencial, espeially when it comes to lyric writing. Darby had this way of writing that even reading htem on a page they still stand out.

  3. Does any one on this site like the "crap" I do like DK, The Clash,Ramones,Damned, Sex Pistols, Uk Subs, The Queers, Bad Brains, and even some post punk like the Dropkick Murphys, Flogging Molly, Misfits, and other stuff like that. Also pre-punk like Mc5, Velvet Underground, and yes i consider phychadelic left wing rock "punk"

Ironically that's the same word my dad used to describe what I was listening to one day last week. I live on Ramones, Dead Kennedy's. And yeah Dropkick and Misfits are aweseom too.

But my all time hands down favorite punk band has got to be The Germs.

  5. My favorite of favorite old school punk rockers are back on tour. 1970's punk rock group THE GERMS have kicked off a tour with three dates in California and a national and international tour to be announced soon. The members of the band have been doing other work since the death of lead singer Darby Crash in 1980. Pat Smear (Nirvana, Foo Fighters) Lorna Doone, and Don Bolles (45 Grave, Celebrity Skin) have grabbed actor/musician Shane West (TV's ER and the bands Johnny Was, Average Jo's) to fill in for Crash who he played in the upcoming biopic "What We do is Secret."

They played their major performence will come on December 3rd at the Key Club in Los Angeles, which celebrates the 25th Anniversary of Darby Crash's last show. The newly re-grouped Germs will be joined onstage for that show by Suicidal Tendencies, Dead Kennedies and Marky Ramone.
