  1. Janis was a lost soul...she longed for real love and looked in all the wrong places trying to find it, and drugs killed the lonliness and pain. Funny thing is, if she hadn't of been so deep with pain maybe she would have not been the singer she was. You know with Janis every word comes from within her, deep in the soul. And who can't identify with that at a point in their life? She was a gift, too bad she never realized it.

  2. I have more Blues CD's in my player at home than classic rock. It seems I want to hear Blues more and more...which I think is a good thing! And you can boogie to the Blues and I like to boogie with my little girl!! She has her Mama's music gene!!

  3. I'm glad to find another Janis fan. How do you feel about Little Girl Blue?? I love it.

One of my favs for sure. Janis sings the blues like no other. The pain in her soul comes through so strong! Thanks to all who posted...finding great stuff! Thanks for the links Bluesboy!

  4. Eric Clapton Eyes Multi-Million Dollar Publishing Deal

The former Cream guitarist intends to land the biggest deal in rock memoir history.

    Sunday, October 2, 2005

Veteran rocker Eric Clapton is offering the international rights of his life story to the highest bidding publishing house - and he has already snubbed a staggering $6.4 million.

The former Cream guitarist intends to land the biggest deal in rock memoir history, and promises the revealing results will be worth the phenomenal cost.

Clapton's literary agent Ed Victor, says, "Eric has known everybody and played with everybody.

"He has a terrific recall and a very dry wit. He will be very frank about his life."

Definately worth every dollar!! One book I won't miss out on!

  6. Rod Stewart surrounds himself with another top-shelf cast of collaborators on "Thanks for the Memory... The Great American Songbook: Volume IV," his fourth album of standards. Due Oct. 18 via J, the set is highlighted by duets with Elton John ("Makin' Whoopee"), Chaka Khan ("You Send Me") and Diana Ross ("I've Got a Crush on You").

Among the instrumentalists lending their talents to "Thanks for the Memory" are trumpeters Roy Hargrove ("My One and Only Love") and Chris Botti ("I Wish You Love"), guitarist George Benson ("Let's Fall in Love") and saxophonist Dave Koz ("Nevertheless (I'm in Love With You)").

Stewart has also recorded Irving Berlin's "I've Got My Love To Keep Me Warm" and "Blue Skies," Rodgers & Hart's "My Funny Valentine," Vernon Duke's "Taking A Chance On Love," Jerome Kern's "Long Ago & Far Away" and the title track, popularized by Bob Hope.

Even though he told Billboard something similar after “Volume II,†Stewart promises the new set "will be the last [standards album] for now.†Afterward, J will on Nov. 15 box up all four releases under the banner "The Great American Songbook." To date, the first three albums have sold a combined 6.9 million copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

Having recovered from recent shoulder surgery, Stewart will return to live performance with seven U.K. shows in December, beginning Dec. 7 in Newcastle

  7. I am doing my dream job for the post part. I am a full time DJ. I would like to work for a station that is not corporate owned...more freedom on music played and what you can say really. And also in a bigger market, but spinning music all day ain't too bad!!
