  1. It seems to me that the horror movies of old tended to be over-the-top and mostly unrealistic. Meant to strike fear into a younger crowd and spook them through the course of the movie and maybe for a week afterward. But horror movies nowadays try to be more realistic given killers that seem more like real people that have horrible minds and could be representive of any person walking this Earth today. Instead of scary we get into more of a creepy feeling that this could actually happen, though not always likely.

  2. This is one I started a couple months ago and finally got around to finishing.

    There you stand before me

    A vision in my head

But why can I only see you

When I?m lying in my bed

    In a flash, you disappear

Bring me back to where I?ve been

But when the lights go on, I open my eyes

    And lose you once again

    [Chorus]

    Sweet vision in my head

    You?re making me go insane

    Sweet vision in my head

When will I see you again

With eyes so soft and a smile so bright

I?m in love with who you are

Everything about you just seems so right

But I don?t know who you are

For some reason you seem so real

Yet there?s nothing there at all

My arms reach out to just hold on

Into my dreams you start to fall

    [Repeat chorus]

I don?t understand what is real

Or what is just a dream

You visit me in my sleep

It feels so close to me

    Sweet vision in my head

    You?re making me go insane

    Sweet vision in my head

You feel so real to me

    Sweet vision in my head

    You?re making me go insane

    Sweet vision in my head

When will I see you again

  3. The third Matrix was such a let down the way it ended.

I thought Romeo & Juliet would be good (the one with DiCrapio) until I started watching it. I was able to hang in there for about 7 minutes and then shut it off because I couldn't stand it anymore. I love Shakespeare, and I assumed no one would bother to screw up Shakespeare, but they did. :beady:

  4. I think rap music hit an all time high in the mid-90's when the industry was flooded with the new wave of Hip-Hop. The rap music that you can bounce to in the clubs and enjoy in your car with the windows down and it gives you a good feeling because it's not about "sad" issues like violence, the ghetto, drug abuse, or anything like that. Old school rap is fun to listen to but a little harder to jam to in the bars or clubs. Now rap nowadays, is just turning toward pop where a lot of it is pointless and really only belongs in a dance club while being harder to listen to in the car.

  5. I wrote this September 12, 2001; you can figure out why.

A tragedy has struck, throughout our land

But today we rebuild, united we stand

You attacked a nation, full of despair

And created a nation of people who care

Through all the pain in the ashes and dust

Our tears keep on falling, but our hearts will not rust

Or crumble like a building, for we are too strong

We fight for the right, we fight against the wrong

United we stand and divided we fall

And through all the heartache, we've conquered them all

For we built this nation, and the songs that we sing

Of mind and of body, as liberty rings

You may knock us down, but we get back on our feet

You cannot knock us out, we know no defeat

Our souls and our spirits, have now become one

To stand against evil, and what it has become

So now we're here together, with our heads in the air

To make our way through, this time of despair

We've made it through ups, we've made it through downs

We've learned many lessons, in our cities and towns

And now we have, an awakening to face

It's time to rise up, and put fear in its place

For we have been struck, and our wounds may be deep

But time will heal, and faith we will keep

And our scars will forever, be etched in the wood

But the tree of life, will always stand for the good

Though the blood of our Americans, causes us pain

Our freedom and hope, will always remain

  6. I wrote this on June 22, 2002 after a visit to New York city and the memorial at ground zero.

Heroes come in all shapes and size

And on that one day, the Angels did rise

To protect New York City, and the families they lost

They put forth their lives, no matter the cost

They entered the buildings, to save those inside

Then sprouted their wings, and flew into the sky

They were not greedy, or selfish to care

They?d soon lose their lives, so others?d be spared

They just did their job, or that?s what they say

We all pray our jobs, never end up this way

They?ll forever be written, in history books

But feel all their presence, when you take just a look

The heavens were filled, on that tragic day

With hero clad Angels, leading the way

So those that they saved, who start life anew

Will always be saying, we?ll never forget you
