  1. Hey Nikki (your name is just too long), try not to bring that horse into Boston. The boys over at MIT may not appreciate it. It may interfere while they concentrate on their computing skills. Of course you'd first have to get it over the river and through Beacon Hill. Take it down to the Commons and stand next to the big statue, you'll blend right in. And how do you manage to have horses in Cambridge? I didn't think there was any room... And how do you fit it on the train?

P.S. Did they finish the construction of terminal E at Logan yet? I get annoyed when I fly Northwest into there and have to deal with all the construction. Almost tempted to just fly into Manchester instead.

  2. Vinyl is great, but it's so difficult to play in the car...

So let me add this, being that I have a degree in Electronics. Analog is not better than digital. Analog is susceptible to noise while digital is not as there is nothing touching the CD as it spins around madly waiting to be probed. Do you get more sound from Analog? Absolutely not. If you understand the fundamentals of digital, you will find that it is capable of running speeds well above the normal hearing range. The biggest problem here is that when many record companies transferred the music onto a CD platform, they lost some of the original integrity of the music that was originally recorded. This is due to the fact they transferred from old tape and reel do a digital platform which won't transfer perfectly. This is mainly because analog is a grouping of sounds at one time while digital breaks everything down bit by bit. If two sounds somehow blend together excessively, you may lose one of them when transferring from analog to digital. It's the same concept of VHS vs. DVD. Watch a movie on VHS and then watch it on DVD and tell me that the DVD is not 10x clearer than the VHS version (movies within the past 25 years).

  3. Uh.. yeah. Had a blonde Moment there because when I first thought of putting the here I thought of that forum.

Oh well. I have my handbasket read for the trip to the warm place.

    Blond-Moment.gif

Yeah, blonde moment. I think it's about a ride in an airplane. The pilot being the guy who flies the plane...

  4. Shout - Otis Day and the Knights version from Animal House

    Sweet Home Alabama - Skynyrd

Sam And Dave - Soul Man

You know, I am a diehard Skynyrd fan, but you can't dance to Skynyrd. And those that do are either on crack or tripping on acid. Skynyrd is not for dancing, it's for rocking out to. Playing the air guitar and singing along to the songs. That would be like dancing to a Pink Floyd song, it just doesn't happen.

  5. I always seem to fall in love as soon as I get my pants off... uh, no wait, uh, nevermind.

I'm bad with love myself. Had a couple that I thought was love but turned out to be something else, still not sure what it was. Love is so confusing. Lucky in love I am not. Lucky in life I may be though, just can't seem to find that right relationship. In fact, my relationships have pretty much sucked. I always end up with a broken heart, an empty wallet, unwanted pictures, bad memories, and more crap to move out of my apartment then when I first moved in. But love and learn and get on with life, that's what I say. The best thing you can take away from a broken heart is the knowledge of what you are looking for next time around. You have to fail in order to succeed.

  6. First off... dedhorse.gif yeah.

I think part of Stairway to Heaven's appeal came from the fact that it picked up so much controversy so everyone and their Mom was listening to it and became familiar with it and everyone learned the words so all the radio stations kept playing it and everyone from 5 to 80 knows the song so they claim it's the most popular song ever. Phweeew.

Now, as far as Lynyrd Skynyrd is concerned and Freebird, as a massively huge die hard Skynyrd fan, I can assure you that Freebird may be one of the best JAM songs, but it is by no means the greatest Skynyrd song recorded, not by far. The fact that Ronnie VanZant lived under that "mentality" is one thing, but the song itself is very simple and the lyrics should have been expanded to at least another verse or two.

This is the same concept of Stairway to Heaven, everyone hears it and thinks it's Led Zeppelin's greatest song only because they never really listened to any of they other songs they played.

So why Stairway? Because everybody knows the song, that's why.

  7. Gisela, that's kind of what I said, but you just took the time to explain it better. You're ten cents seems to be much more valuable than my two cents. But that's basically what I was getting at. You have to experience a lot of different forms of love until you really know what it is you're feeling.

  8. I'll have sex no matter what time it is.

As long as I'm not worn out from inflating her.

Holy s--t, that's the funniest thing I read today.

In my opinion, how do you really know what love is when you're at such a young age? You need to experience different forms of love before you can really tell what is real and what is only on the surface.

  9. While we're fresh on the subject, there is something I would like to address. Why is Daniel called Daniel-San occaisonally? Did I miss some inside joke about him being Japanese or something?

That would be a reference to "Karate Kid" where Mr. Mioge would call Daniel (lead actor) Daniel-san.

I can't wait to see if The Who come to Minneapolis. I finally got Tommy in the mail while I was away and can't wait to listen to the whole thing.
