  1. Wow, an awful lot of strong feelings in there. It's nice that you could get them out and write them all down. Although the subject tends to jump around, the point is easily made. You've made it a little harder to argue for the will of man. But in my opinion, I pretty much agree with what you have said. Bravo...

  2. Writing is a very powerful tool to share your emotions and your feelings and to help yourself work through difficult times. This piece has a beautiful effect to it that shows a trust and a non-understanding of what has occurred. I really like it. It's a good way to reflect upon a death of someone near you. It's like asking God why it happened, while saying to yourself that it was probably meant to happen that way.

  3. This is one of the most wonderful things I have read. It's so powerful and so sad and it's scary how truthful it is. Oddly enough, I feel the same way and have written many pages concerning this same subject. The only thing I can find is a couple of grammatical errors that make some of the lines a bit choppy, but who cares about that? The message is clear, and I only hope others will listen.

  4. I like everything but the "Welcome to the dead zone" part between the verses. Although I do like the ending

Welcome to the dead zone as far as I can see but do not give in or inwardly flee

Just reach out for my hand baby we?ll do it together.

You could almost take out the "Welcome to the dead zone" between the verses and stick to the ending which brings the whole poem together and finalizes the picture you are trying to create. Other than that I think it's fantastic.

  5. A great song about how hard it can be to get over a failed relationship. The meaning is great, but the flow seems a little choppy. Added to music it might sound right, but structure doesn't always sound right when you just read lyrics. It shows emotion, I like it.

  6. I guess Chris pointed out the obvious... but maybe stated it should be 6 years. Almost 16 would mean she is 15, and from 9 to 15 would be 6 years...

This sounds like a daughters' cries toward her estranged father. I like the way it keeps with the rhythm of the song and the way it makes you wonder "what happened" for this girl to be so sad. I like the wording, very powerful, and definitely conveys the message that is to be heard.

  7. Scott, I like the way it states how so many things said in other forms of writing seem repetative and boring, but to me it lacks a very catchy ending that sums up what you're trying to say. But, on the flip side, sometimes leaving the listener/reader in suspense is one of the best ways to leave them. You make them think about what's really being said and what they true meaning is that you're trying to convey. The simple structure makes it stick in your mind and the references are kind of obvious as to what you're referring to. But maybe an ending to cap everything off could be added, or maybe not...

  8. Minneapolis...

This is a very disturbing piece, but the words are so powerful and descriptive that it really gives you a picture in your mind how things can really happen in life. I really like the ending. The song as a whole builds up to this tragedy that is occuring and then... peace comes in the midst of madness. Very well written and the lyrics are flow very smoothly.

  9. I think I'd go into depression and withdrawal without songfacts.

I love the sheet music website though. They have all sorts of good sheet music which seems hard to find other places. Do you have an easier way to link to it without having to go into a song and follow the link that way? Can you put a link on the home page by any chance?

  10. "Southern Rock Opera" by The Drive-by Truckers

It's an entire 2 disc album dedicated to the original line-up of Lynyrd Skynyrd. It's basically a modern Southern Rock band showing their appreciation to the group that started a new wave of music. The lyrics are well written and the guys have very raspy voices that have limited ranges which truly emphasise what Southern Rock is all about. You won't find glamerous dance songs or pop tunes or anything that Billboard would care about, but to revive Southern Rock for a younger generation, this is a great band (and album) to get into. The guitar play is deep and rich and doesn't succumb to the regular guitar play found in the world of pop rock or other corporate made bands. These guys are true to their roots in the South and the music shows their ability to bring the sounds of the past to the generations of today.

  11. Oh, but she "makes me wanna la la..." She's musical genius through and through!

If you look up "talent" in the dictionary, you'll find a big picture of Ashlee Simpson! Or maybe that was a Mad magazine... I can't remember now.

She'd be a lot better as a musician if she'd just dance around naked on stage to take away the attention from her ability to lip sync.  Okay that wasn't right...
