Yeah, my friend won tickets and the whole shebang on the radio... lucky lucky!! He said they were selling a $2000 Dark Side of the Moon clock, signed by Pink Floyd with a plaque that said In celebration of TIME and another that had the lyrics engraved on it. After he told me, I was like, I WANT ONE!!
Seriously though, I'd have bought it had I been there... ::

R.I.P. Johnny- We all miss you!

80's songs the best?? God NO!
-
"Awakenings" is the closest... I've not yet cried at a movie, but that was close
-
"Gimme Shelter" and "House Of The Rising Sun" -- Casino
Also the theme from "Chariots Of Fire"
"Mrs. Robinson" from The Graduate
Also, my friend mentioned that "Money" was the best part of "The Italian Job"-- which I wish I could have seen, if only for the MiniCoopers ::

Metallica and The Clash had Four Horsemen songs didn't they? Maybe it was one of them? :: ::

Hey!
Yeah, my name's Maeghan {that's right, there's an extra 'a' in there... it's Gaelic } I picked the name behindblueeyez because not only is it a great song, but I have blue eyes and I thought I'd be creative. Though it isn't really-- Oh well! I just graduated highschool- would have loved to be valedictorian, but was 14 places below that. Meh, not bad I guess, especially if I just want to be an interior decorator.
Aside from listening to classic rock, I enjoy doing all sorts of disciplines with my 6 horses. I also have taken on the task of training our Bernese Mountain Dog puppy, {we've had the breed for 20 years-- so wonderful!!} and in the process, have decided to show her, breed her, etc.
I play piano, not fantastically, but pretty well, but due to the fact that most of my favorite songs are done by guitar, I took that up after my friend gave me her acoustic for $5.
I could seriously talk about rock and roll all day- the history, the great bands, how I will one day marry one of the sons/grandsons of the Stones or the Who Or at least settle for an English boy::
Well, that's me in a nutshell.

Jimmy Eat World
I know nothing about them, but it's a funny name...
I read somewhere that Pink Floyd came to Syd in a "vision"... but I'm more like to believe the whole bit about naming them after Pink Anderson and Floyd Council/his cats... ::

Heaven and Hell by The Who
On top of the sky is a place where you go
If you've done nothing wrong
If you've done nothing wrong
And down in the ground is a place where you go
If you've been a bad boy
If you've been a bad boy
Why can't we have eternal life
And never die
Never die
In the place up above you grow feather wings
And you fly round and round
With a harp singing hymns
And down in the ground you grow horns and a tail
And you carry a fork
And burn away
Why can't we have eternal life
And never die
Never die
On top of the sky is a place where you go
If you've done nothing wrong
If you've done nothing wrong
And down in the ground is a place where you go
If you've been a bad boy
If you've been a bad boy
Why can't we have eternal life
And never die
Never die
Never die

"Reunite Pink Floyd!!" Not that it would work though

Tossup between Can't You Hear Me Knocking and Rocks Off... both very addictive! :guitar:

I have managed to find a good 90's group.
Anyone ever heard of Guster? Their stuff is pretty good, totally not boy bandish or anything, but not 'rebels' either. Just sort of like "hey yeah, we're here, it's all good..." I haven't heard much from their newest album "Keep It Together" but it sounded good. Go to guster.com --- they can be fairly entertaining as well!

Withnail and I without a doubt.
Marwood: What happened to your cigar commercial?
Withnail: That's what I want to know. What happened to my cigar commercial? What happened to my agent? Bastard must have died.

Someone on another messegeboard did this, and it was actually pretty fun. How many songs can you think of where you can hear extra things in the songs or places where the singer messes up? For example, at the end of "Barbara Anne" The Beach Boys slip up... at the beginning of "Pure And Easy" (I think... I don't have the CD with me ) You can hear Keith or Pete saying "Put away your girlie magazines!" ... and in "So Long, Frank Lloyd Wright" you can hear Paul saying "So long already Artie!" way in the background. Others?
*Note-- if this has been posted already, sorry about that! I've not been here too long

Arlo Guthrie's Motorcycle and Alice's Restaurant are great, they crack me up. If you have never heard them you should.
Yes yes! Those are hilarious!
"Barbara Anne" by The Beach Boys is funny because they all mess up and get tongue tied at the end
"Boris The Spider" The Who
"Horse With No Name" America-- I doubt it was meant to be funny, but the lyrics where they say "... cause there ain't no one for to give you no name..." just absolutely crack me up.

Drums- Keith Moon is a must
Keyboard- Jens Johansson (Stratovarius) or Rick Wright
Guitars- Keith Richards and Pete Townshend
Bass- John Entwistle and/or Joseph Bouchard
Vocals- Roger Daltrey
Yeah, that'd be a spectacular band... loud and great ::

"What absolute twaddle!"
This list obviously had little to no serious thought put in it.
Down with the list!

I can only think of "Living On A Prayer" by Bon Jovi {my friend loves the guy, I swear I don't listen to that stuff }
But it's uplifting... like someone else said, uplifting and light stuff isn't really what I listen to Maybe "Happy" by the Stones...?
-
Off the top of my head, I'd have to say:
The scence in Withnail and I were they're trying to fish with guns {though the entire movie is hilarious}
The scene in Without A Paddle where the guys are running through the pot field to "Can't You Hear Me Knocking" :guitar:
I'm sure there're loads of others ::
