edna
Wasn't "Those Were the Days" by Peggy Lee? I love that song haven't heard it in years tho. Darn, now I'll have to research it and see if I'm right. You´re wrong, Lea. It´s Mary Hopkins...
Lea
Yeah I just edited my post . Peggy Lee did a similar song called " Is That All There Is". It would also be a great song to hear before ya die .
edna
I don´t know the Peggy Lee song but the one by Mary Hopkins was a Russian old song signed by McCartney
Lea
Hmmm I googled Those Were the Days and it was credied to Mary Hopkin. I'll have to check out Laurie's link. I just did a lyric search and that is the name it gave me.

edna
Believe, it´s a Russian song. My grandparents were russian, I knew it before Mary Hopkins http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Those_Were_the_Days_(song) Now, I see it´s not credited to McCartney... I perfectly remember, I had the single back then (promo stuff, I never bought that) and it was credited to him... he must have lost some trial... Lea
Wonder what it sounds like in Russian. She was listed as the singer of the song and here, at least in the US, it is best known sung by her.

Laurie and I are good friends but we don´t share brains... see, I have only three cells left in mine, two of them are already damaged, so I could hardly share... blind-fitter
I've thought about this a bit since this thread began, and decided I would like the last song I would like to hear before I die should ideally be something I've never heard before, something which would take me somewhere I've never visited. I would like my life to be a journey of musical discovery right to the very end.
