Ombre Vivante
I'd like to hear from my family. There ain't a sound in the world I'd love to hear more before I kick the bucket - everything else is just noise
OLD 55
Good on you Ron. You got my little joke. I'm surprised that anyone knew it. It is a good song. I'd probably like to hear some boring late 60s/70s Band (Zep, Floyd - plenty to choose from) playing something with a gratuitous 10 minute guitar or drums/flute/keyboard solo + vocals, so I could gasp out "why didn't you play me 4 good three minute Pop songs instead !". (Beach Boys or Beatles). Seriously ? Jesus Is A Soul Man - the rocking Johnny Rivers' version.

I grew up listening to "Hit Parades" where they counted down the songs from #8 to #1 + slipped in a couple of advertising breaks in 30 minutes ! The good old AM days. babyteen
I'd like to hear the following songs at my funeral. 1. When The River Meets The Sea: By John Denver and The Muppets Such a peaceful song about the circle of life, and discovering what happens when we die, when the world is in perfect harmony once again. When The River Meets The Sea Words By Paul Williams Music By John Denver Verse 1. When the mountain, touches the valley. All the clouds are taught to fly. As our souls will leave this land, most peacefully. Though our minds, be filled with questions. In our hearts we'll understand. When the river meets the sea. Verse 2. Like a flower, that has blossomed. In this dry and barren sand. We are born and born again, most gracefully. Thus the winds, of time will take us. With a sure and steady hand. When the river meets the sea. Verse 3. Patience, my brothers. And patience, my son. In that sweet and final hour. Truth and justice will be done. Verse 4. Like a baby, when it is sleepin’. In its mother's lovin’ arms. What a newborn baby dreams, is a mystery, a mystery. And this life, will have a purpose. And in time, we'll understand. When the river meets the sea. When the river meets, the almighty sea! 2. Philadelphia: By Neil Young Such a beautiful song, and the perfect little lullaby to send your soul to a loved one who has passed on. TheLizard
I'd like to express my confusion at the first statement. I think it'd be difficult to hear the songs playing at your funeral, as you'd be the corpse in the casket.
skybluesky
I'm going to hear the songs at my funeral, but that's because I want to be a ghost when I grow up, and the first place I'm going as a ghost is my own funeral.

Farin
I think I already said that in another thread, the last song to be played at my funeral should be P.S. You Rock My World ~ Eels [spoilerq:1]lyrics[/spoilerq] [spoilera:1]I was at a funeral the day I realised I wanted to spend my life with you Sitting down on the steps at the old post office The flag was flying at half-mast And I was thinkin' 'bout how everyone is dying And maybe its time to live I don't know, where we're going I don't know what we'll do Walked into the Thrif-tee Saw a man with the hollow eyes who didn't give me all my change But it didn't bother me this time 'cause I know I've only got this moment And it's good I went to the gas station Old woman honked her horn Waiting for me to fix her car I don't know, where we're going I don't know what we'll do Laying in bed tonight I was thinking and listening to all the dogs and the sirens and the shots And how a careful man tries to dodge the bullets While a happy man takes a walk And maybe it's time to live...[/spoilera]
Floydaholic
That is such a hard question! There's plenty of good music that I would want to listen to before I die. Could it be a day of music instead? I suppose that Let It Be by the Beatles kicks some serious ass though.

_Laurie_
I told hubby I would like "In My Life" played at my funeral....and oh he's just so sweet, he said "sure I'll do better than that, I'll have McCartney sing it, in person!"....I said oh gee, thanks dear, but I'm planning on living untill at least in my 80's, and that would make Paul what? 105 or more??" and of course this conversation was after we've both had some beers....
