OLD 55
I had no idea that "Melting Pot" wasn't a hit in the States. It's so very American. Their only U.S. Hit was 'Our World' At #64; certainly not their best. They just musn't have gotten airplay with Melting Pot, Banner Man, By The Devil I Was Tempted, etc.! I've got a 'Best Of' CD if ever you'd like it. 1. Silence Is Golden - The Tremeloes (1967) 2. Polk Salad Annie - Tony Joe White (1969) 3. Melting Pot - Blue Mink (1969) 4. The Supernatural -- John Mayall & The Bluesbreakers .. Peter Green ought to get the credit. Outstanding, as always. 3. Roll Away The Stone -- Leon Russell .. Always liked Leon’s music, but never cared for his vocals. Anyone second that opinion ? 4. Roadhouse Blues -- The Doors .. with a bit of help from Lonnie Mack and John Sebastian 5. Lucky
3. Roll Away The Stone -- Leon Russell .. Always liked Leon’s music, but never cared for his vocals. Anyone second that opinion ? I love Leon's music...and I love the vocals. I know, the only more unmelodic voice out there is possibly Bob Dylan's... But I love his as well. For whatever reason, I am drawn to the music and the voice, it's different, and if nothing else goes far to convey the emotion of the song. I'm just glad he's in the mix this time!
