The only problem with wikipedia is that it is easy for someone with an agenda to put their info up as truth whether it is or not.

that's true, but it's actually quite hard for it to remain 'the truth' for a long time (if it's a popular topic)

the people there are actually pretty keen on having a source for everything...

nonetheless you should always be careful of taking everything you read as the truth - whether it's on wikipedia, the internet in general or some books
