Levis Posted May 12, 2010 Report Posted May 12, 2010 hey that happens to me too - if I go to sleep any time before midnight I'm up 2 hours later. I have learned not to go to bed on the day I wake up. Optimal bedtime is post 3 a.m.
Levis Posted May 12, 2010 Report Posted May 12, 2010 Still not calling it insomnia. But aaaah how I pity those who take pills to fall asleep. For me the best part is just before when I give myself those 3-4 squares of dark chocolate that little shot of sherry and play Pygmalion by Slowdive. That one hour - it is bliss. If I fall asleep, good. If not - I have Rutti, I have Miranda and I have Blue Skied n' Clear, I don't need anything else I am in heavennnn
Shawna Posted May 12, 2010 Report Posted May 12, 2010 Since I got a good workout cleaning and pine-soling a house today, and I'm thoroughly physically exhausted, I have hope for lasting sleep tonight.
RockyRaccoon Posted May 12, 2010 Report Posted May 12, 2010 What you need to understand, dear Rocky, is that I go to bed at 10. So if I'm up at midnight, that means I only got 2 hours of sleep - IF I fell asleep right away (which is unusual). Because once I'm up, I'm up for the duration. The previous night I got to sleep all the way 'til 2, and the night before, I think I woke up at 2:30. Somewhere between 2 1/2 - 4 hours of sleep for the past 3 nights. I'm not happy. 'Twas only kidding dear Shawna
Shawna Posted May 12, 2010 Report Posted May 12, 2010 'Twas only kidding dear Shawna yes, I know, darling.

We don't feel miserable at all. I enjoy it very much when I do. And I'm not hooked at all, believe me... Sometimes I take nothing, other times I see it's late and I have things to do early in the morning, so long live sleeping pills!!!!!! You only have to know how to use them so you won't get hooked. They have been a real help for me for years... LET PROGRESS LEND A HAND. Optimal bedtime is post 3 a.m. ...not when you have to be up and working at 8 a.m....
Levis Posted May 13, 2010 Report Posted May 13, 2010 Oh no, I still throw myself out of bed at 9 or 10, otherwise I won't get ANY work done.
pinkstones Posted May 27, 2010 Report Posted May 27, 2010 I just remembered something -- I graduated from high school 10 years ago today. Where did the time go?! LOL
MindCrime Posted May 27, 2010 Report Posted May 27, 2010 I just remembered something -- I graduated from high school 10 years ago today. Where did the time go?! LOL Same here (don't know if it was this exact date though). I can remember it like it was yesterday though, but sometimes it seems like it was in a past life that is not my own.
Lucky Posted May 27, 2010 Report Posted May 27, 2010 You two are the same age then as my youngest son then, he also graduated Class of 2000. Yes, I said youngest. Good lord.
pinkstones Posted May 27, 2010 Report Posted May 27, 2010 Part of the reason I remember the exact date of my graduation, aside from the fact that I still have the program in my yearbook, is that it came exactly 3 weeks after my senior prom. We had Spring Break the week before that, so May 1st was our first day back, May 5th was prom and May 26th was graduation. We crammed a lot in 3 weeks.
Shawna Posted May 27, 2010 Report Posted May 27, 2010 our graduation was sometime in June... so I've got a week or two left before I have to remember 30 years ago. Yes, 30.
pinkstones Posted May 27, 2010 Report Posted May 27, 2010 Don't feel bad, my parents just had their 40th high school reunion three years ago.
Steel2Velvet Posted May 27, 2010 Report Posted May 27, 2010 I'll have my 50th in 2016  There'll be all sorts of folks there. Mostly old, though.
Steel2Velvet Posted May 28, 2010 Report Posted May 28, 2010 I'll have my fiftieth in... 2058. Promise you'll invite me along.
Tenacious_Peaches Posted May 28, 2010 Report Posted May 28, 2010 Woot! Party! I'll be in my early 90s!
RonJonSurfer Posted May 28, 2010 Report Posted May 28, 2010 I'll have my fiftieth in... 2058. That's the year I turn 100....sweet..
Heimann47 Posted May 28, 2010 Report Posted May 28, 2010 Well, there's gotta be someone in the triple digits there!
edna Posted May 29, 2010 Report Posted May 29, 2010 I graduated in 1973. We all live in different countries and yet we manage to meet from time to time...
Ombre Vivante Posted May 29, 2010 Report Posted May 29, 2010 I don't remember anyone from high school, except for the professors. I guess there would be a point in attending a reunion if some of them peeps are still around
