So much more than Random Thoughts

I like Facebook, but lately logging on has me frustrated.  I have friends with different political beliefs and I can respect that, but every other post from some of them is political.  Politics has its place, but I really don't want my news feed cluttered with hateful comments against a certain candidate or supporting hateful comments from another one.  Maybe I need to take a Facebook break for a while.

Since I'm the Antisocial type, I keep my FaceSpace and email/snail mail friends in the dark about MY political/social/scientific/religious views. (And I don't discuss such stuff, either.) That way, I can still be friends with folk to the right of Michael Martin Murphy or to the left of Jackson Browne. I'm not too sure about David Brin, but Mike Rowe is OK, though his dog goes on and on.;)

I don't know what any of that stuff has to do with going down the shore. BTW, Today through Sunday we are predicted to have near record high temps for this time of year. It may hit 70 on Sunday and that may not be anything special to some of you...but in New Jersey in mid-December, well, the Sun Gods are earning their keep.

The PGA Championship stops by my town in two months at Baltusrol Golf Course, Springfield, NJ.Even two months in advance you see signs going up directing the TV crews to certain locations. New fencing has gone up so nobody can sneak any free peaks at the action. It's one of the majors so we get all kinds of celebrity types coming through. We are close to NYC so we get that action too.

well, hulloooo. :-)  Is there anyone out there besides me who goes to Las Vegas to do things other than gamble?  I actually googled "what to do in Vegas besides gamble."  There's a lot of stuff going on there that doesn't involve throwing money at the casinos!  Who knew?:beatnik:

Let me see now, in the morning, one's blood sugar is a tad low from that all night fast during sleep. After sundown, folks are still wound up from the day's events, so some head for the nearest watering hole to get an alcohol/MJ/drug hit/high. Then, before you know it, it's time to sleep for the rigors of the next day. (Some choose chemical "helpers," which leads some to physical/mental burn out.)

Speaking of random thoughts, I'm a Nielsen radio diarist/logger. Normally, I don't listen to radio, preferring to play the iTunes library when surfing the web. At this moment, I'm listening to KSSK FM, 92.3Mhz, an "adult contemporary" station. AM radio is usually an audio disaster, so I prefer FM even though I'm surrounded by trees at the low end of Wahiawa. (Analog TV was a snowstorm, so I've been a cable TV subscriber since the 1970's. Over-the-air Digital TV can't get through the trees, either.:(  I'm using my oldest non-Apple digital music players (4GB and 16GB) to access FM with varying results. I guess the Nielsen people found my TV log of last year interesting enough to have me sample radio.
