edna
So, edna... how many hours a day did you watch TV? Not much... but during the holidays we used to watch the shows for kids. And sometimes, at nights (on Fridays or Saturdays) we watched the shows for grown-ups...

edna
Well, we came from school at 6.30 pm, we had to do homework, bath, dinner and straight to bed to be up at 6 am... we didn´t have much time to watch tv. But we had the weekends and hollidays... besides, after you´re 13/14, you´re allowed to do more things...
Lucky
edna, when I was young I'd occasionally get to see the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson. That was cool, you felt like you were up very late, and seeing something only the grownups usually saw! This was my favorite show as a kid, and will always be my favorite theme: The Andy Griffith Show

CanAm
Although MASH is my favourite show and many other great shows have been mentioned, here are some other ones I remember fondly from my childhood: The Persuaders Great theme music by Sir John Barry. The Rockford Files Harry O Featuring a very young Jodie Foster. The Avengers Boy did I love that leather body suit worn by Diana Rigg. I had a crush on her in a big way. The Champions The Carol Burnett Show Although this show has already been mentioned, this outtake is hilarious. IMO, the best television variety show. Green Acres High Chaparral Jack Lord in a guest role. Pre Hawaii Five-0. Hawaii Five-0 Featuring the great stone face himself, Jack Lord. Voyage To The Bottom Of The Sea Land Of The Giants Time Tunnel Star Trek The greatest sci-fi series ever created.

Sweet Jane 61
Remember the Outer Limits, that show freaked me out when I was a kid. "Do not attempt to adjust your television set" I was scared with just that part of the show! The beginning....watch if you dare...lol!! Shawna
thanks for that Carol Burnett clip, CanAm! I think it's hysterical when they crack themselves up and then they try to keep a straight face
CanAm
You're very welcome! Of all the regulars on the show, I find it interesting that the one who is the most difficult to break up is Vicki Lawrence. She had absolutely no professional training and no TV credits to her name when she joined the show.
