OLD 55
Four to vote, and we have ourselves a Top Ten I'm going to ask a favor here. Lucky looks up the release dates of all nominations for statistical purposes. Sometimes I help out. This time we had trouble finding dates for some little known, obscure album tracks. Please - if you're going use such nominations, can you do a little research and maybe post the date when you nominate ? Chances are you have the album in your collection ! With one track I found in the Billboard Album Charts, the Album reached #115. That's obscure ! Also, if you're nominating songs from the 40s, please give us a little evidence to back the release date. When we first started the Top Ten, we only nominated songs from the start of the Rock Era (generally regarded as 1955) onwards, but we've changed that a couple of times to accommodate all. As I often say, It's YOUR Top Ten, but anything you can do to make it easier for us to collate and compile the information is appreciated. Thanks ! Well, I suppose if someone up there ^^ had ranked Mellisa a little higher....

Sweet Jane 61
Good mix in this top 10. I love the fact that Sly made number 1, that is funky cool!

Steel2Velvet
Good to see the brothers Everly in the top ten. They gave so much to modern rock harmonizing. Before them, it was either a 4 part do-wop group or a soloist's world; it seemed no in-between.
Super Ry 71
I love the fact that Sly made number 1, that is funky cool! To you. (It's not that I hate funk, because some of it is good, but I just prefer more rock-oriented groups.)
OLD 55
Where's young Tim ? He'll be stoked. He nominated both the Sly and Beck songs. Can't wait for his reaction when he gets his head out of that study. Don't forget this is the best time of your life, Tim. Not for me - I couldn't wait to leave College. I never could prove that xy = ab. I really like 6 of the songs there - the other 4 I can't say I know very well, if at all. I didn't get around to watching all the clips this week. Good to see some renoms make it. Persistence sometimes pays off ! Neither Sly & The Family Stone or The Allman Brothers , even CSN, were hugely popular in Australia. I remember being surprised at the large number of songs Sly... had in 'Rolling Stone' Magazine's Top 500. They only had 2 Hits in Australia and never made our Top Ten, nor did the Allman Brothers.
