Space Cowboy
well, that's a strong opinion, but i have always like pearl jam, but i'm getting a little sick of their political stuff, and i really didn't care for eddie vedder's storytellers scene where he changes the meaning of betterman to being about bush instead of his stepfather

Lucky
Here's an interesting clip somebody put together. It's a comparison of "Please Read the Letter". Written by and performed on the album "Walking Into Clarksdale" ~ Page & Plant. Plant & Krauss covered it on their album and the result is interesting .... better? I dunno, but definately different, and I like it. Please Read the Letter

bazooka
Harlem Shuffle -- Vigon Absolutely terrific cover of Bob and Earl's classic. Haven't found much about French soul singer Vigon. Maybe edna or another European Songfactor can educate me. Looks like this is his signature number.
Batman
IMO Stevie Wonder's version of We Can Work It Out is hte only Beatles cover I've heard that's definitely better than the original. Earth Wind and Fire's Got To Get You Into My Life might be better too.
bazooka
Heart Full Of Soul -- Chris Isaak "may be better" is in the ear of the beholder, but damned good in any case.

LeeBB
Well, is it possible that nobody has mentioned the Beatles' version of Twist And Shout?? I'm a proud Australian, so how about: The Zoot's Eleanor Rigby from 1970 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q_3IUASoqfM Incredible!! That's Rick Springfield on the killer guitar, and Beeb Birtles from LRB is in there too. YOU MUST LISTEN TO THIS!! See ya, LeeBBB

LeeBB
Here's one that well worth the finding: Harry Nilsson's version of She's Leaving Home from his wonderful debut album. He recorded it only days after first hearing the riginal. The Beatles soon after described Harry as their favourite US act. Coincidence?
