1910 Fruitgum Company

Not to knock anyone, but if you do a little research you can find the truth about The 1910 FGC.

On the first album, K&K purposely put film strips on the cover with no large pics. Still our names are listed inside. Also, there are 45 covers with pics from Spain, Italy, England and the Orient. Many are of the original band. Don't believe everything you read out there. It's just plain un-researched reporting.

Thanks to our fans,

Floyd 1910

This sounds like a whole lot of fun. I'm happy to hear all of you guys are still out there playing live and having a good time.

Ron,

You mentioned Buona Gente restaurant in Springfield, NJ. It's actually a great venue for fans because its a small room with limited seating and a great view of the band. The owner, Jimmy, charges $60 per person for the food and entertainment. I forget how many courses the meal is, but its very good (my wife loves it!).

See you on the 27th,

Floyd

The food in Shelbyville is much better. :) (OK, so I saw The Simpsons movie)

Floyd, thanks for stopping by, and I will hit you up for an interview soon. The truth has been obscurred when it comes to music of that era, and it's great finding out what really happened. Interesting related reading is our interview with Toni Wine , who was the female voice of The Archies, and also the Mony Mony Songfacts, which Kenny Laguna told us about.

Ron,

Forgot to mention that I DJ at Domanis Restaurant in Roselle Park a couple times a month. In fact, I'm there tonight. Unfortunately they're tearing down the place and building condos, so this is my last night here! I've been DJing here for the past 4 or 5 years and they just told me last Saturday night that the place won't be here after next week. Their farewell party is next Saturday night, I believe. My friend John Davis will be the DJ that night. He was in my band 'Miracle' back in the '80s.

Well, we don´t get such important visitors that often... :) :) bringing up so many information about something so fascinating -in my opinion- as bubblegum...

One more reply now... ;)

I just think it's SOOOOOOOO cool that Floyd Marcus is ACTUALLY here on the boards! The dude is a great drummer! His style is technically sound and he can mix it up with some wild beats, too.

I'll admit I'm not the most-educated fan, but I do love meeting a fellow percussionist.

 Mr. Floyd Marcus

(another post, after viewing it a dozen times )

Yes, you're right. It was Steve Mortkowitz.

When 123 came out as a single, I was not on it. K&K used the Trade Winds to do the tracks. I just wrote this story on the Bubblegum Univ blog. I did play many of the songs on the 123 album, but not that one.

In those days, the studios had drum sets setup with sounds they liked. It was rare that a drummer could change anything on the studio drum sets.

Floyd, we are just happy to have you stop by when you can to discuss a time many of us remember fondly. The younger crowd on SF are really intelligent music fans too...they may not know the music or the band or even the bubblegum genre, but they are willing to learn about it...who better than you for this? Thanks.

Yes indeed. Hey Floyd, is that Mark singing on the 123 Redlight record? I would love to hear some early Jeckyl and the Hydes recordings. (Was that the right name?) I loved the original line-up. Simon says is just killer. I figured out how to play it on the keys today, and I did a lousey little version of it (just the 1st part)

You can listen to it here

Hey, it's fun trying anyhow.
