bazooka
" ... the world's most celebrated artists chose their favorite musicians and created The Greatest Album Covers That Never Were. " I came across this site accidentally. Not much special here by my tastes (and the reproductions differ in quality), but it was an amusing diversion. MindCrime
I can see why the Led Zeppelin #2 didn't make it, a nice concept for the album however. I like the one for The Doors though, especially the back cover.

Tybalt
Yeah, the Eagles on Tour is cool + funny. I also like Hendrix (artist: Peter Green) Foo Fighters (artist: Tommy Steele) and David Byrne (artist: Alan Shaffer)
Elvish
I agree with Tybalt on the Hendrix cover. I also like Muddy Waters and Black Sabbath (wish I could enlarge the image without distorting to look at detail). The design of the Beatles one is cool, but it isn't very practical. MindCrime
I read this wrong when I was looking at it yesterday, I thought it was referring to the original album covers that were rejected, this is an artist's tribute to their favorite bands & what cover they would've created. The Jimi Hendrix selection is IMHO the only conceptual artwork that would?ve been well placed as an album cover, as well as the flowing controversy from of the Doors pick. The rest look like ?Flop work?, although I like the quality on the Tom Petty choice, it still doesn?t appear to correspond with his brilliant work. In heaven
The Led Zeppelin record cover was awesome but I love the The Velvet Underground's banana so I'm a little biased. It would have been great if they would have payed respects to such a great at least on greatest hits or something.
