1. 30 Days In The Hole - Humble Pie (Not much to say about this one.....only one of the 50 greatest tunes of all time!)

2. 40 Days - Chris Robinson (Awesome single off the second solo album by the lead Crowe!)

3. A Rock 'N' Roll Fantasy - The Kinks (Ray shows off his superb talent as a balladeer.)

4. Dangerous Type - The Cars (Long live Ben Orr! Surprisingly, his name rarely gets mentioned during talk of great male singing voices.)

5. An Old Fashioned Love Song - Three Dog Night (Three-part harmony rules! I like it even better than four-part harmony.)

6. Shock The Monkey - Peter Gabriel ("Watch the monkey get hurt." Yeah!! I'm there for that party, man!!)

7. Set the Controls For The Heart of the Sun - Pink and Floyd (Gotta love this saucerful of Floyd, man....the only Floyd song on which all five members played...yes, including Syd.)

8. Bullet With Butterfly Wings - Smashing Pumpkins (Despite all my rage, I am still just a rat in a cage!" I have, in the past, considered using this line as my signature, but just never got around to it....maybe it's because I'm just not that full of rage. Good tune, though.)

9. Birdhouse In Your Soul - They Might Be Giants (John and John picked up where Devo left off.)

10. Lonesome Loser - Little River Band (Just one in a string of Top Ten singles by the Australian hillbillies.)

1. Lover Please - Clyde McPhatter

2. Do You Know What I Mean - Lee Micheals .. Without a doubt, the best 'keyboards and drums only'-accompanied song ever.

3. 30 Days In The Hole - Humble Pie

4. Good Thing - Fine Young Cannibals

5. Jukebox - Bent Fabric .. I'd always thought Bent Fabric (of Alley Cat fame) was a proto-psychedelic name of a group.

Actually it's short for Bent Fabricius-Bjerre, 82 year old Danish pianist and composer.

6. Beginnings - Chicago

7. Cry to Me - Solomon Burke

8. Kansas City - Wilbert Harrison ..Aw, but you know, yeah

9. The Locomotion - Little Eva

10.Rock'N'Roll Fantasy - The Kinks

allmusic.com gives the title on the track listing as First Impressions. However, in any discussion of the song they call it "Pretty Paracetamol". In the artists' biography they do mention 'PP' being a re-recording of the title track First Impressions (calling it a tamer re-recording). Well if that isn't confusing! :stars:

Word Salad ~ Fischer-Z (track listing)

You can search the artist from there and see what I mean. ;)

That's really interesting Lucky! I've always known it as 'Pretty Patacetamol'. Sometimes songs (and Movies too) are released under different titles in different countries ! Maybe we could show it as:

Pretty Paracetamol(First Impressions) - Fischer Z

What do you think, Lucky ???:)

I have a feeling that it's as you say Darryl, the song released under different names, depending on the country it was released in. Your suggestion sounds just fine. ;)

Thank you for getting my name right Darryl....

It breaks my heart to leave out An Old Fashioned Love Song, Slave To Love, Lonesome Loser, Etc. Etc. I guess I'm stuck in the 60s. Except I missed 'Lover Please' - Clyde McPhatter ! I won't change it now though.

Funny, I'm not a big LRB fan ! I think their lead singer Glen Shorrock is one of Oz's all time greats, but I preferred him in the 60s Bands he was with before LRB.
