seadog Posted December 11, 2003 Report Share Posted December 11, 2003 I believe the actual name refers to a house where the band stayed in the Caribbean in the mid 1960s before they had much success. The song lyrics refer to the history of the 4 members of the group leading up to "California Dreaming" which was one of their big hit songs in the US. John Phillips, and 'Mitchie" Michelle Phillips wanted to record more rock and Pop flavored songs instead of just Folk songs,the rest of the story can be found in the booklet included with their very good compilation "a Garden of Flowers" cd set. hope this helps, K Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
