_Laurie_ Posted February 22, 2008 Report Posted February 22, 2008 Shawna, have you been reading those magazines that Sammy sent ya again?....
Farin Posted February 26, 2008 Report Posted February 26, 2008 Robert Smith should do a cover of Coldplay's Clocks, so when he sings "Am I part of the cure / or am I part of the disease?" we can say "Oh, I know that one!"
miamisammy29 Posted February 26, 2008 Report Posted February 26, 2008 Maybe that's it... women don't need that sort of "extension." That's because women can drop their pants almost anywhere and get applauded. A guy does it, he ends up in the Big House. So a guy has to use the "symbolic" form of exposing himself. But the real reason music is a male-dominated field is because... ....women give up much too easily. A guy can stay unemployed for 20 years while trying to make it big. The average chick just can't hold out that long. Maybe a year or two...three years tops. PATIENCE just isn't in a woman's vocabulary.
Farin Posted March 1, 2008 Report Posted March 1, 2008 what's the difference between a xylophone and a marimba?
Farin Posted March 1, 2008 Report Posted March 1, 2008 I see... so it's "brilliant, incisive" vs "mellow, warm tone" and one has (almost) no resonators... okay, thanks
Farin Posted March 2, 2008 Report Posted March 2, 2008 In principle it was the wikipedia syndrom see here I was looking for the name of a certain instrument (Cabasa) and came across percussion instruments, among others xylophone and marimba... and if you read these two articles you'll notice that there's next to nothing about the differences of these, obviously very closely related, instruments btw, new random thought a guy in my region invented a cabasa that can be played per foot
Levis Posted March 5, 2008 Report Posted March 5, 2008 Chris and Katie should be proud of me. I made it a point to use Cold Chisel as an example in my assignment

But I guess they just didn't have the patience.

c_s_1987 Posted March 6, 2008 Report Posted March 6, 2008 Chris and Katie should be proud of me. I made it a point to use Cold Chisel as an example in my assignment Are you going to explain this fine piece of work you refer to?
Levis Posted March 6, 2008 Report Posted March 6, 2008 I have to review an Aussie reference book for my assignment so I picked on Music and Dance in Australia. I made the conscious decision of citing Cold Chisel as an example of bands that are mentioned frequently (seven times) but do not have individual entries. I'm actually quite shocked that there is no mention whatsoever of The Church.

Levis Posted March 7, 2008 Report Posted March 7, 2008 But... The Church! They even had an overseas hit Remember that Milky Way song?
Shawna Posted March 7, 2008 Report Posted March 7, 2008 (edited) Need any shaving cream for that task??? Blue - you're maybe the only person (outside of me) who could have possibly turned that into a sexual innuendo. Well done. Edited March 7, 2008 by Guest
Tony Baloni Posted March 11, 2008 Report Posted March 11, 2008 Long road to ruin, there in your eyes, under the cold streetlights budubum budubum budubum They play this song all the time on the radio and i cant get enough of it!
Levis Posted March 11, 2008 Report Posted March 11, 2008 Foooos! They had that entire album as part of the in-flight entertainment when I came to Oz
Tony Baloni Posted March 11, 2008 Report Posted March 11, 2008 Hahaa that's awesome! Where were you coming from?
Tony Baloni Posted March 11, 2008 Report Posted March 11, 2008 You had to take a plane just to get a sandwich?
Levis Posted March 11, 2008 Report Posted March 11, 2008 Yep...and tea. I don't settle for anything less than the best
miamisammy29 Posted March 11, 2008 Report Posted March 11, 2008 You had to take a plane just to get a sandwich? Now, that's the Toni Baloni I remember! And this one's NOT a buttplug!
