The Seeker
Some people are just too stupid. I was just watching The Seeker on youtube, and one of the comments is someone recommending Rush's version of the song... and the reply to that comment: "What's it called?" The Seeker
"It was recently announced that the entire Who's Next (1971 Release) album would be available to download for the upcoming video game Rock Band for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3" Someone please please please tell me this is not true. It can't be true.

TheLizard
It is true, that was announced when the idea for the game was announced. Albums will be available for download monthly, I believe. I know Metallica's Master of Puppets is another one that will be available. Personally, I don't see what's wrong with that. Rock Band is a great, innovative video game and it's a very good way to get people that otherwise wouldn't bother to discover The Who. Guitar Hero and Rock Band have been vital in sparking an interest in classic rock amongst people my age who had no previous interest.
The Seeker
It's a video game and I don't care much which video game... plus to me Who's Next is a bit of a sacred album and only those who really appreciate the Who should be allowed to listen to the whole album. Yes, call me snobbish.

And yet another way for Lars Ulrich to suck every last dime he could out of the pockets of eleven-year-olds. More power to him.

Jill
Don't know if you all ever feel this way, but sometimes I skip through songs that I've loved in the past. Maybe I'm not in the mood to hear it, or I've heard it so many times before, or maybe it's just the hecticness of life (work, kid, etc)that make me click through or skip through a beloved song. Yesterday I was driving, flipping around on the satellite radio and "Jungleland" by Bruce Springsteen was on, a real favorite of mine in the past but largely ignored by me in the last 10-15 years or so. Something had me keep the radio on that station and I listened to the song again to the very end. I felt a cynical-ness melt away, at least temporarily. I felt the power of first discovering a moving piece of music. That was cool.
