But, as a moderator here I spend a lot of time here making sure its a cool place for everyone. There are some people here I like a lot, some that I don't really care for. I don't try to bring down anyone, I don't need to climb on anyones back to make myself feel "taller" or more important. I tolerate a lot. But sometimes over the years people have gone out of their way to get in mine and try to yank on my chain. I don't know why. I try to understand. But I guess it's just another example of US AND THEM mentality, the same thing that wars are made of. That rallying cry of "Let's all band together against the aggressors" when in fact the aggressors are a fabrication. They are just people trying to live life just like you. The only difference is they are given an authority, and this authority bothers some people, some people resent people with any authority because it makes them feel like they can not say or do anything they want. This is unfortunate. I guess I just need to accept the fact that there will always be the US AND THEM element, and there is no way to escape this. Sad. Blue Fish Posted April 19, 2007 Report Share Posted April 19, 2007 I agree with this. i get it a lot as a House prefect, even my friends won't trust me as I have to uphold the rules of the house, yet I am still the same friend they once knew. Most moderators are far too involved in what goes on here every day for that to happen. Being a moderator doesn't make you any better or worse a person than the rest of us. One thing I'd take offense at is how they do their job--I'm not saying I could be one, but those who are should be capable of doing what they're supposed to do. I've said in a different thread that I've always liked the way you can express your opinions fairly freely here. One thing I don't like is how there are times when people make a big fuss about non-mods criticizing moderators--if I don't agree with something someone else has said or done, I'll say so. If that someone happens to be a moderator, I'll say so too. That's got nothing to do with a 'us and them' mentality or questioning authorities.
